Benny stared at Collins for a moment, face blank. "Do I look like someone who wants to be pretty?" he asked. Quickly, before Tommy could answer, he held up his hand and shook his head, "Don't answer that. But, please, no Mr. Potato Head with my body parts." He chuckled a bit at the absurdity of the conversation.
"Who are you calling dumb?" Benny asked playfully, poking Tommy in the shoulder. "You watch yourself, there, Mr. Collins, I can cause you lots of trouble with this gift of mine." Benny winked, folding the paper twice. "Besides, I learned the hard way that Dr. Warrisk doesn't refer to herself as Dr. Warrisk to the other teachers."

Tommy allowed his laugh to become a bit louder and forceful. "That look on your face was priceless man. That makes me feel better as it is." He paused for a moment and then added. "By the way, thanks. Thanks a lot...I mean that you know. And not just because you found my weed."
"Oh I'll just have to watch myself then. Beware any notes from the so called principal. I'll be very very wary," Tommy winked at him. "Hey, I trust you. Whether I should or not is a question, but I trust you."

"Glad I could help," Benny grumbled, trying but failing to keep a straight face. He blushed a little as Tommy thanked him, glad it wouldn't be very noticeable against his skin. "'Sok, man," he said, looking at the ground. He grinned as Tommy continued, "Yeah, whatever, I know the weed is the real reason!" he said with a wink.
"You better be wary, boy," Benny warned, "You wanna stay on my good side. I got friends in high places!" he exclaimed, waving the note at Tommy. "Aw, Tommy, you know you can trust me," Benny wrapped his arm around Tommy's shoulder again and began walking down the hall. "I may be an idiot at times, but I'm a loyal idiot."

Tommy smirked and nodded. "Yeah yeah, don't you worry though. I'll make sure to save some for you. As a thank you a suppose. But don't get too excited. I don't think it's that good it was cheap so you know...but hey it is what it is." He looked at his locker for a moment before letting it go.
"Ha, high places you mean?" Tommy asked miming the smoking of a joint to make his point. "Those type of high places." He walked with Benny and raised his brow still smiling. "I'll be the judge of that now won't I? Your idiotness will be judged by your peers. It's the way of the world."

"You'd better save me some," Benny said indignantly, shoving Tommy a little, "You know buying weed isn't my forté... I specialize in more scriptural things," he finished, doing his best to look pious as he brandished his note. He chuckled a little. "Hey, if it's the same weed we had last week, it's just fine. Managed to relax the two of us then, didn't it?"
Benny clapped Tommy on the shoulder, "Ah, Tommy, you're my only friend in those high places," he grinned, "Wouldn't have it any other way, either," he added, sincerely. Benny shook his head, laughing. "If you're gonna be my judge, I think I'm in trouble. Do I at least get to present my own defense? Wouldn't want the whole thing to be biased."

Tommy snorted as Benny shoved him. "You know, Benny, it's not very hard. You find a dealer and then you offer money and that's the deal. Not really hard, my man. Then of course, I know that whole forging a signature really takes concentration. Years of pratice. So of course I understand, Benny-boy." It felt good to tease him again. Pretending that he wasn't hurt.
Tommy smiled deeply. "Strangely enough that makes me feel good. What does that say about me? That I like being your own weed contact." He nodded and clapped Benny back on the shoulder. "Don't you worry, you'll get to say your peace. Not that I won't just happen to forget everything you say. I do have bad memory...can't be helped."

Benny shook his head, "All Greek to me, man. I'll just keep bumming from you. It's worked for me this long." He shrugged, "Who knows though, maybe this'll be my year..." he thought about that, then shook his head again, "Nah."
"You're a special guy, Tommy. I don't let just anyone get me high," Benny said with a wink. "And maybe I'll have to get you high before you try to judge my level of idiocy. I might be able to influence you more easily if I do."

Tommy laughed quietly and shook his head. "What are you gonna do next year when we're in college? Are you gonna drive up to see me just so you can get a stash? Really now that would be a sad sad state of affairs. Explaining that too my roommates might be more difficult than the whole gay thing," He teased although he doubted that that day wasn't going to be a walk in the park either.
"Oh I feel previledged," Tommy said putting his hand over his chest dramatically. "Ha. That's the only way you would get off, my friend. Might be your only course of action. And amazingly enough, I'm not gonna fight it."

"I'll just have to follow you wherever you go, I guess." He sighed dramatically, "There are some sacrifices we have to make in life." Benny pondered the roommates thing for a moment. "Get Angel to graduate early and room with him," he said, nodding. Seemed like a perfectly sensible idea to Benny.
"You should. And I'll keep that in mind. Remind me to never ask you your opinion of me while you're sober."

"Ah yes the sacrifices," Tommy said with a dramatic sniff. "I'm glad to know that somehow I'm a part of that. Makes me all teary eyed." Then he thought about it and nodded. "Yeah. That would be cool in a perfect world. But...that might be hard to explain to Angel's father. He's...well Angel's not out yet to him. And apparently he is more religious than the pope. I'm nervous for him frankly."
"Your wish is my command," Tommy said nudging him with a grin.

Benny rolled his eyes at the description of Angel's father. No wonder the poor guy was still in the closet. Collins had stayed in until he was a senior, and his parents certainly weren't wingnuts. "You gonna help him?" he asked seriously. He didn't know Angel well at all, but the kid was small, and from the way Tommy spoke, it sounded like his father could get violent. Benny found himself feeling oddly protective of Angel, not wanting to see him hurt. Maybe it was because he was the person who made Tommy so happy. Whatever the reason, he wanted to make sure Angel would be safe.

Collins nodded slowly. "Yeah. If I can. I already told Angel that I'd go with him when he told his dad. Hold his hand and all. And he seemed to like that idea. I just don't know when it's gonna happen. I'm hoping that that's what happens. We go to his dad and explain. If Angel's father finds out through the grape vine...I don't know what would happen."
He looked away for a moment and sighed. "When I take Angel home I have to drop his off at the end of the block. That's how scared he is of his father." Tommy didn't want his parents to know right off the bat either, but he had brought Angel into his house and spent time with him there. Even though his mother freaked, it could have been worse. And all of the worse reactions popped into his head whenever he thought about Angel's father stumbling upon the truth. "Am I playing too much of the worried boyfriend?" He asked with a small smile.

Benny frowned as Collins spoke, pretty much confirming his suspicions. "Look, man," he began, quietly but seriously, "I know it's not my place, but if you need any help..." He let his voice trail off, feeling a bit awkward. What exactly was he offering? Well, the logical part of his mind told him he was just offering support to his friend, but there was a little part in the back of his mind that wanted to be able to give that man a piece of his mind... and maybe more.
Benny shook his head. "No, man. Seems like you're feeling exactly how you should. I don't know what I'd do if Mimi..." he shook his head again, unable to even imagine the thought of someone hurting Mimi. "You're just trying to protect him, which is exactly what you should be doing." Benny sighed, squeezing Tommy's shoulder. "But you're right. He should really tell his father, before he finds out some other way. Especially after what happened today... who knows what else those idiots would be willing to do..."

"Thanks Benny..." Tommy said quietly looking at him with a real sense of gratitude in his eyes. "It's nice to know. But I'm not quite sure what you could do. Stand behind me and Angel as our personal body guard? Frankly that don't sound too bad." He smiled deeply and then shook his head. "I don't think it's gonna come to that, but I'll keep you informed."
Tommy listened to Benny carefully, glad that he wasn't teasing him about it. "Thanks...I'm new to this...stuff. But I'm loving it already. And I know you're right. I'd rather not have a repeat of what happened at my house. I ever tell you that's how my parents found out? I should have locked that door." Then he paused and shook his head. "Since when did you become the voice of wisdom? That kinda freaks me out!"
Then he paused at the door of the building. The path lead to the arts building and he looked to Benny. "You sure you wanna do this...?" He asked him quietly.

Benny smiled back at Tommy, making his best muscle-man pose. "I'm happy to serve," he said, then grew serious again. "I hope it doesn't come to that, too. Just... I'm here for you, you know?"
Benny burst out laughing as Tommy mentioned locking the door. The image of Tommy getting caught kissing Angel in his bedroom flashed through his mind and he laughed even harder. "She caught you making out?" he asked through the laughter, "Oh my God! I wish I could have seen your face! Hers, too, for that matter." As Tommy continued, Benny smirked, "Hey, I'm allowed to have my moments. Just because they don't come often doesn't mean they don't exist."
Benny followed Tommy's gaze to the Art Building. "Course I do, man. Besides, I've just given you my words of wisdom... I'm probably all out now. Angel'll have more for you while I go get a refill." He turned back to Tommy, smiling, "Where do you want me to have him meet you?"
