Stevie leaned against the icecream display. She had been on shift for around an hour and maybe two people had come in thus far. She had still however, managed to get chocolate icecream all over the front of her uniform. When she had accepted her position at Smitty's, they had been very accomdating about her school activites. She worked till close on nights she could, and all weekends.
It was a Thursday, she noted, which was probably why they were slow. She twisted her braided hair a moment, and was about to pull out a deck of cards, when she heard the bell ding open.
"Welcome to Smitty's!" She called out, glancing up.

Cathrine walked into the icecream shop; so glad she convinced her mom not to come in with her. WHat if all her friends saw? That would just be humliating!
"Hi!" said Cathrine to the new person, then blinked...hey, wait a minute. "Don't you go to my school?" she asked. This person looked a bit famillar.

"If you go to Scarsdale, then yes." Stevie replied cheerily. She leaned aganist the counter. This girl looked familiar, what was her name? It was Carly, or maybe Cari, Corinne maybe? She couldn't quite put her finger on the girls name.
"Let me know if you'd like to try a sample of anything. We have three new flavors." She told her before going back to trying to figure out the girls name.

"Yes, I do," said Cathrine, "And I'm sure you know who I am...the most popular girl in school," she said, tossing her blonde hair.
"Oh!" she said, always excited for ice cream, "What flavors are they?"

For the most popular girl in school, Stevie had no idea what her name was. "Carrie, right?" She guessed after moment. She quickly went on to describe the ice creams. "Oh well we have Chocolate Walnut, Black Cherry, and Vanilla Pecan. Their all good, but I'd recommend the Black Cherry."

Cathrine mentally sweatdroped. "My names Cathrine!" she said, obviously annoyed, "I can't believe you don't know that!" she said with a toss of her blonde hair. Oh," she added, "And chocolate walnut sounds good."

Stevie shrugged. "Why would I? I don't know you." She replied in way of answer. Just because this girl was popluar she seemed to think she should know her name. She pointed the the cups and cones.
"Which would you like?" She asked. "Small, medium or large cup, edible cup, or small waffle cone, or sugar cone, and how many scoops of ice cream?"

"Because I'm popular, that's why," she said, giving another hair toss and said, "And I'll have one scoop in a small cup."

"That means I should know your name why? I don't do the whole label thing." Stevie plucked a small cup out of the stack and rolled up her sleeve sligthly to avoid getting her sleeves dirty. Years of sports, and working at the ice cream store had given her well toned bicepts.
"Sprinkles?" She asked.

"It's not about labels," said Cathrine, rolling her eyes, "It's about me being cool so you should know my name or you're a loser."
"And no," she said with a small glare toward Stevie, "I don't want sprinkles." Seriously, what was wrong with this girl not knowing her name then being all, 'I don't do labels?' Freak.

Stevie hid a laugh in a cough. She straightened to her full height, a rather imposing, as her brother would say, five foot nine. "Cathrine was it?" She began in a sweet tone. "I'd like to offer you one piece of advice." She smiled none to kindly at the girl. "While you can talk a big game, and act like your the shit, your not." She smile grew a little. "In fact, I overheard that people don't like you. You make slurs about others." A spark of something peeked in her eye. "To be popular, as you so desperatly want to be, I'd start mending fences and but quick." She put the ice cream down on the counter.
"On the house."

"THat's my name," said Cathrine as Stevie started talking to her; then glared at what she said next. What the hell! Everyone loved her, except for the freaks, nerds, and outcasts; but, they didn't matter at all. "For your information," she said with a glare, "Only freaks and losers don't like me...and those are the people I talk bad about because they deserve it! If they were cool, I wouldn't."
She waited for a response because Stevie must of known that what she said made sense and she wanted to here her admit that before going to eat her ice cream.

Stevie laughed. She laughed until she was tearing up and leaning back against the fridge for support. "Oh my god, your so funny." She said coughing. "Could you name me three people who love you? That aren't your parents." After a moment, she straightened up again. "You have one minute, then I want you to take your ice cream and go."

Cathrine glared at Stevie as she started to laugh. What!? What she said was supposed to make sense. It DID make sense! Her glare then became harder when Stevie told her to name 3 people who loved her. What a stupid question! EVERYONE loved her!
"Take this you bitch!" she and poured the ice cream over Stevie's head.

The ice cream only made Stevie laugh harder as she easily grabbed Cathrine by her colar and dragged her across the counter. Keeping a firm grip, but not seeming to mind the ice cream dripping down her face, she shook her head, making sure to spray the sophmore.
"That's really pathetic." She said with a sigh. "As if that would bother me. I grew up with a brother hon. Whatever you can dish out, I can take." She paused and shoved the girl against the fridge making sure to keep a tight hold on her top to keep her from running. "What I can dish out?" She smiled without humor or joy at the girl. "I'm giving you one last chance. Turn around and walk out the door. I'd hate to lose my job over you, but I could always find another one."
