Eric smiled as he followed her into her bedroom. He glanced around but didn't really take much notice of his surroundings, all his attention was focused on Lilia. He stopped in the middle of the room, turning her to face him again. He tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear and leaned in to kiss her, hands finding their way back under her shirt to run along her back.

As they continued, thoughts rushed through Lilia's head. What if this ruins everything? What if something happens? She tried to stop them, but they wouldn't go away. She pulled away from Eric and closed her eyes. "Maybe... maybe we should wait. I mean, we haven't even gone on our date yet," Lilia said. She bit her lip, hoping that Eric wouldn't be disappointed.

Eric felt Lilia tense even before she spoke and immediately moved his hands out from under her shirt, resting them on her waist. He nodded, placing a small kiss on her cheek before turning away from her, taking a few deep breaths and trying to calm himself. He wanted her so badly, but there was no way he would push her or force her to do something she didn't want. When he felt he had himself under control, Eric turned back to Lilia, smiling down at her. He pulled her into a hug and kissed the top of her head. "Okay," he managed, "I guess we should get going, then."

Lilia bit her lip when Eric turned around. She was so afraid that she'd made him angry, and she hadn't exactly had the best experiences when she'd made a guy angry. She relaxed when he finally turned back around and smiled at her. "Please, don't be mad at me. I'm just not as ready as I thought I was."

"Hey," he said gently, placing a hand on her cheek, "You don't need to apologize, okay? The last thing I would want is for you to have regrets. Don't feel bad." He kissed her softly, "And I'm not mad. Just needed to... you know," he gestured vaguely, blushing a little.
Taking her hand in his, Eric headed for the door. "Well, Miss Moore, I believe we have a date to get to," he said with a wink. "And where would the lovely lady like to eat?"

Lilia smiled. "Okay," she said, smiling. She kissed him softly. "Thank you," she replied.
"I'm not sure. What are you thinking?" Lilia asked, taking his hand.

Eric opened the door and headed toward the entryway. "Well, there's the Santa Fe Cafe. It's good and has lots of different stuff. Why don't we try that?" He let go of her hand to slip on his shoes and jacket, then opened the door, pulling his car keys out of his pocket.

"That works," Lilia said, smiling. She bit her lip as her mother's car pulled into the driveway. "Oh crap," she said, pulling him out of the house as quickly as possible. "If she asks, you had to go to the bathroom, okay?"
Lilia smiled at her mother. "Hey Mom. We were just on our way out," she said. She pulled Josh towards his car. "I'll be back before midnight."

Eric's eyes widened as Lilia's mother showed up. He certainly didn't want to cause any problems right now. He nodded at Lilia's suggestion, then allowed himself to be pulled out of the car, tossing a quick "Nice to meet you," over his shoulder.
Once inside the car, Eric burst into laughter. "Well, that was interesting," he managed, once he had calmed down. He pulled the car out of the driveway, still chuckling. "To the Café?" he asked.

Lilia got into the car quickly and buckled her seatbelt. She couldn't help but laugh along with Eric. "Maybe its a good thing we stopped when we did," she said, smiling at him.
"Sure, let's go," she replied. "So, what kind of food do they serve?"

Eric nodded, "Yeah. That would have been... awkward," he said, cringing as he imagined her mother walking in on them... He shook his head, trying to rid himself of the mental image.
"They serve just about anything. Burgers, steak, pasta, soups & salads, sandwiches. You name it, I think they've got it." He thought a moment, "Their lasagne doesn't hold a candle to mine, though," he added with a wink.

"More than awkward. You would have been banned from our house for the rest of your life," Lilia replied. She smiled. "Besides, I can just imagine that conversation with my mother. I do NOT want another one of her sex talks." Lilia shook her head, remembering the awkwardness that had ensued after that conversation the first time.
"Sounds good," she replied. "But I don't think anyone can hold a candle to your lasagna, Eric."

Eric chuckled. "That wouldn't be good at all. You think she's gonna be upset that I was there?" he asked, concerned. He didn't want her getting into trouble - that would mean he wouldn't be able to see her. "Ah, the sex talk. My mother didn't even bother with that one. She decided I could figure it out on my own."
Eric smiled, pleased that she enjoyed his cooking. Pulling into the Café parking lot he announced, "Here we are! Hope you're hungry."

"I doubt it. I'll just tell her you were going to the bathroom, that's all," Lilia replied. She sighed. "I wish that would have been my mother's route. She likes to use a lot of euphemisms for things. If I remember correctly, we ended up talking about it for about two hours before I even realized that she was talking about sex."
"I am kinda hungry, now that you mention it. Guess that lasagna didn't last very long today," she said, smiling at him. She leaned across and kissed his cheek.

Eric cringed. As much as he loved his own mother, the idea of talking about sex with her was... not nice. And for two hours? He felt bad for Lilia. Placing a hand on her shoulder, he joked, "Must have been painful. Remind me to tell my mom how much I love her next time I see her."
Eric got out of the car and walked around to Lilia's side, opening her door and reaching in to take her hand. He grinned. "Doesn't look too busy. We can probably get a good booth by the back window."
