Dwayne could practically see the school fading from their line of vision despite the fact that he was concentrating on driving. Not to mention all of the things going through his head. He gave Lilly a sideways glance, smiling a bit.

Lilly caught his smile and smiled back, wondering if he would mind if she put a foot on the dashboard. She always felt more comfortable like that. "So...when we get back, you mind stalling in the driveway for a while?" There was no way she'd go inside right away. Not a chance.

Dwayne smirked a bit in response to that statement. Surely she knew the answer to that already? "I definitely don't mind." He set his eyes back toward the road. "The longer we can stall, the better."

"Figured I'd ask. How much do you love your car?" Lilly asked, still eyeing the dashboard. The more freedom she had in his car, the more freedom he would give her later to do other things- that is, if he loved his car. That was the way she saw it, at least.

"Understandable" Dwayne agreed before raising an eyebrow at her latter comment. "Well, that's an excellent question actually. I wouldn't say I obsess over it, but I do like it. Love just feels like too strong a word." He shrugged a bit. "Why?"

"I was wondering if you'd care if I put my feet on the dashboard." Extra points for Dwayne if he let her do it with her shoes still on. "I like doing that. But if you care for the welfare of your car, I will refrain from doing so and understand. That's like what Mark's like with his camera."

Dwayne laughed a bit. "Ah...go ahead. I don't mind. Now if that were my camera, then I'd have a few problems." He scoffed a bit. "And yet your brother doesn't like me just because...well, yeah." He smiled weakly at the thought. Overprotectiveness was the best way to push someone away, in his opinion.

"Should I take my shoes off first?" Lilly asked, eyes breezing over his rather clean car. "Does my brother still scare you?" she added, changing the subject. She really hoped they still didn't have problems- she really, really wanted this to work out for them.

"I admit, I would prefer that, but it's up to you" Dwayne responded. He was slightly surprised at her second question. "No, it's not that. I just keep feeling like he still hates me deep down. I wouldn't want that. Again, he's important to you, so I want him to at least be okay with me dating you." And possibly be falling for you, by the way. I'd tell you, but I want to be sure first.

Lilly kicked off her shoes. Okay, so no bonus point today. Maybe later. She smiled at his latter comment, as if to comfort him. "Don't worry about that. I know he doesn't hate you. Who could? Certainly not somebody as kind and level-headed as my brother. Certainly not anybody, as far as I'm concerned. Except maybe Cathrine, but she's stupid."

Dwayne smiled back toward her. "That's definitely good to know. And I can deal with Cathrine hating me...although she seems more like she's acting like a stalker lately. It's sort of freaking me out, as you may have noticed." He shook his head. Really, the idea of trying to break him and Lilly up. He could mess up this relationship in so many ways and he wasn't letting Cathrine add to it.

"She freaks me out anyway. And to add stalker to her repertoire? That's just bad. Bad, I tell you!" Lilly laughed, rolling down the window a little and letting her hair blow around her face.

Dwayne scoffed a bit. "You better believe it" he muttered, shaking his head. "And by the way, I think I may have just tricked her into going to a GSA meeting. Sure, she's trying to convince me that they're 'whiny freaks', as she put it and to break up with you. Little does she know how little I care about what she wants. And who knows? Maybe she'll come out of that room more tolerant." He thought on that hope for a minute and rolled his eyes. "Damn, way to get my hopes up, eh?"

"Hey, you did it yourself. Don't complain to me." Not exactly the nicest way Lilly could have answered, but she felt the need to do it anyway. "We almost there?" She had been paying absolutely zero attention to the roads and wouldn't have noticed if he drove her 57 miles away from her house.

Dwayne laughed a bit. "Yeah, I know, I know. Truth is, no matter how much I know that I'm being overly optimistic, I still think that things will work for the best. Even if the person in question is a complete bigot. And yes, we're almost there." Much to my dismay... He parked in front of the Cohen residence. "See what I mean?" ((Out=Cohen Residence))
