Benny sat in the greenroom, looking over the list of props they would need to find or make. It was not looking like an easy task. He'd thought prop crew would be a simple way to get some extra credit... he'd been wrong.
"A milk cart?" he read aloud, "I don't even know what that is! Where am I supposed to find one?
Sighing he put down the list, looking around to see if there was someone who might be able to shed some light on this seemingly ridiculous list of items.

Joanne wandered around carrying her list of props they were going to need. Checking them off as she noticed them around the area. So far she had realized the prop department already had four items on the list they could reuse. She pulled to a stop when she heard someone ask about a milk cart.
"Hello?" She called, peeking around the door. "Are you a props person?"

Hearing a voice behind him, Benny looked up. He smiled at the girl peering into the room. "Not for much longer," he told her, good-naturedly, "Don't know how I'm gonna be able to find this stuff. They'll probably fire me." He grinned a little crookedly, then stood. "I'm Benny. You on props too? Because I could sure use some help." He glanced back down at his list on the table. "Do you know what a milk cart is?" he asked, "Or where a guy might find one?"

Joanne grinned when he said he wasn't going to be able to find some of the stuff. "I found at least four items around the backstage area, some we won't have to scrounge around for." She told him. When he introduced himself and asked if she was on props too, she nodded. "I'm Joanne. Nice to meet you Benny." When he asked about a milk cart was she blinked.
"I think we could find one. A milk cart, I wonder if they meant a milk crate, that would be easier to deal with." She said with a smile.

Benny smiled at her. "Hi Joanne." His eyes widened a little when she mentioned that she'd already found some of the stuff. "You may just be my new best friend," he joked, resisting the urge to crumple up his own list and just let her find the stuff.
"I don't know," he said, in reference to the milk crate. "This Mr. Fire... Fear... First..." he shook his head, gesturing to Mr. Fierstein's name on the paper, "This guy is supposed to pull it around. I don't think you can do that with a milk crate."

She laughed when he joked about being her new best friends. "Oh well that's different than what I was expecting you to say." She grinned. When he said he pulled it around, she thought about it. If the crate was big, he'd tote it, but she didn't think that was it.
She frowned for a moment before laughing. "I wonder if they mean what they had back in kindergarten, during snack time the teacher came around with cookies and milk on this almost stewardess type cart."

Benny chuckled at Joanne's amusement. "And what were you expecting?" he asked with a grin. He shrugged a little, glancing at his paper again. "I signed up for this for the credit," he sighed, "Didn't figure it would be hard."
Benny listened to Joanne's description of the snack cart. "That could work," he agreed, feeling a bit more confident about it now that he had someone to bounce ideas off. "And maybe we could get some big wagon wheels or something to put on it, so it looks old. Or just draw them or something."

"I was expecting something like 'yeah duh, so did I' or something along those lines." Joanne said with a laugh. When he said he signed up for the credit she nodded. "I thought it might look good on a application if it showed I had done stage work as well. Don't know why, I thought it seemed like a good idea at the time." She smiled before shaking her head. When he mentioned they could get a big wagon wheel or sometime to make it look old she nodded.
"If push comes to shove, we could always just build something. Or use a Radio Flyer and hope no one notices." She laughed. She was sure if they used her old red wagon someone was bound to ask why. Of course they could just cover that with wood.

Benny laughed. "I may speak before I think," he said with a chuckle, "But I do my best not to be rude." He shook his head a little, remembering some... uncomfortable moments when he'd not taken the time to decide what he would say before he opened his mouth. "Yeah. I think it's something the colleges would like. You looking at some place in particular?"
Benny made some notes on his list of props, nodding to himself. One down... he didn't even want to think about how many more there were to go. "So that's one thing. What else were you able to find, best friend?" he asked with a wink.

When Benny said sometimes he spoke without thinking, but tried to be polite she smiled. "Which is more than I can say for a lot of people." She frowned. "Some people just spew out the words and then get defensive even if what they said was offensive." When he asked if she was looking at any schools in particular, she shrugged.
"Ah I'm not looking at any colleges in particular just yet." Joanne admitted. "My parents want me to go to Harvard or Yale, but I don't think those places are for me really. But I guess time will tell."
When he asked her what else she found she laughed. "Ah well let's see.." She checked her list. "Some old prop trees and some curtains for one." She told him.

Benny nodded at Joanne. "Your parents must be friends with mine," he said, "They're trying to get me to go there, too. Don't know where I want to go, to be honest. Have you decided what you're going to study?"
Benny checked off the trees and curtains from his list. "Okay, that's good. Um..." he scans the list once more. "The pillows and blankets should be easy. And the wooden chairs. But... a butter churn?" he looked over at Joanne, "Know anyone who's got one of those? When do we need these by, anyway?"

"I actually wouldn't be surprised if they were." Joanne told him when he said their parents must be friends. When he asked her what she was gonna study she tilted her head slightly. "Law, but not sure what form of a lawyer just yet. What about you?" She asked.
"Butter churn, we could just get a barrel and a broom handle. My cousin could get us the barrel if we needed it and I actually have a broken wooden broom stick. I don't actually know when everything is due. I'd imagine the quicker we got them the better though."

Benny blinked when Joanne said law. "Wow, that's great. Not for me, though. Too much research! I'm thinking business. I'd like to be an entrepreneur or something. Work for myself, have my own business." He shrugged. "I don't know."
"Wow, am I ever glad you're on props with me! You've got connections, girl!" Benny exclaimed, making more notes beside 'Butter Churn' on his list. "You're right, though. Why don't we try to get them all by Monday? That way we can be done and make any adjustments we need." He nodded to himself, happy with his idea. "I think we've come up with ideas for about half of it already."

"Owning your own business is such a fantastic idea." Joanne told him. "I think your business would thrive with whatever you chose to do." She grinned warmly at him. "I tossed around corporate law for a while, so who knows, if you ever needed a lawyer, look me up." she laughed.
"Ah, yes my connections are really just having a ton of cousins!" She laughed when He said they could try and get it all by Monday she nodded in agreement. "I think that sounds like a really good idea."

"Thanks," Benny said, a bit grin on his face. He wasn't used to getting a genuine compliment like that - his friends usually just teased him. "I'll be sure to look you up, but I think I'm gonna try to stay out of trouble," he added with a chuckle.
"Okay, then, Monday it is. Did you want to split the list or work together on it?"
