Kat nodded in understanding. "Gotcha. Gotta love the 'rents," she replied, rolling her eyes. She personally couldn't stand hers, but that was a long story. One that didn't need to be plunged into at any time. She twirled a lock of hair around her finger, seeing Brittani's antsy-ness. "Everything ok?" she asked, raising a brow.

"Oh, yeah. Love my mom to death, but she can be really confusing...but I guess that goes for all parents." she laughed, adjusting herself in her chair. "Okay? Yeah. Well, sorta....I have no clue." she answered. Way to go, that probably made absolutely no sense whatsoever. she thought.
She glanced back in time to see Caroline leave. I guess I'll...see her tomorrow then. She stared at the the floor blankly and unconciously played with the hem of her shirt.

Kat nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I think it's an unwritten rule for them to be as confusing as humanly possible," she replied, smirking slightly. "Oh well. We just get back at them with rebellion and things even out."
She raised a brow at Brittani's response, following the girl's gaze to the stage. Noticing someone else leaving, and Brittani's face falling as a result, she put two and two together. Realization dawnd on her, and she nodded gently to herself. "Gotcha. Ah, high school romance. C'est la vie, I suppose."

"Ah, exactly; rebellion and the same amount of confusion." she laughed, "The relationship of parent and teenager."
She smiled lightly to herself, Guess I'm caught. "It's not really a romance, per say...more like a...crush at first glance? It's weird - no, that sounds bad...it's good...I'm just gonna shut up now." she rambled, dropping her head slightly at the end of her rant.

"Ah, ain't life grand," Kat muttered, rolling her eyes. She hated how things seemed to work between her and her parents, considering the fact that she used to actually enjoy being around them. Now, she'd just as soon sit and watch paint dry than hear another fifteen minutes about how she was ruining her life, or whatever it was they were on their soapbox about this week.
She smiled slightly as Brittani explained herself. She'd been there before. Granted, it was quite some time ago, but she'd been there. "Nah, s'alright. I get what you're trying to say," she said, still smiling slightly. "What's her name? I think I"ve seen here around before, but I'm horrible with putting names to faces."

Obviously, parents aren't a good subject for her, either. I seem to have a talent for finding other people with parent problems lately. "It has it's perks." she said.
"Okay. Glad you did; I didn't really get it." she joked, "...Caroline. Sweet. Caroline Sweet."
I can talk to her, but if someone even brings her up I get all...bleh. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

"Yeah, it does. For me, they're few and far between, but they're there. Hope you've got better luck than I do," Kat replied, smiling weakly. She chuckled inwardly at Brittani's flusteredness, remembering the feeling from when she'd had it. Hope the girl's situation turns out better than mine, she thought bitterly, shaking her head gently. Racking her brain for any bell that rang at the name, she shook her head again. "No, I can't say that I know her personally. Probably just passed in the halls or something."

"Ah, not the greatest parents?" she asked, "I know how that is...well, sort of. My dad's never been the best...person." Leaving mom and I when I was ten. Ten. What the hell? she thought.
She laughed, "You'd probably recognize her if you saw her; she's pretty outgoing...and she's--I'm just gonna stop right there." she said, laughing at herself dully. I'll call her when I get home. I need to call her when I get home. Right now, I don't care if I have to wait...I'm telling her.

Kat deliberated for a moment before replying. "Well, they're not horrible, but they're certainly not the best. They expect me to confrom to their upper-class world of tea parties and polo matches, and that just doesn't work for me."
She smiled, nodding. "Most likely, yeah. I'm not so good with putting names to faces." She noticed a thoughtful, almost distracted expression come over Brittani's face and sighed softly, shaking her head. "You know, you're more than welcome to go and talk to her, if you'd prefer. Won't offend me in the slightest; I know I'm not the best company."

"Ah, I'd feel exactly the same." agreed Brittani, "I'm way to...loud for all that." she laughed.
"Oh no, you're fine...Gah, I'm sorry." said Brittani, looking back at Kat apologetically.

"I just don't agree with my parents' way of thinking," Kat replied, smiling weakly. "I'm too much of a hippie to conform to society's norm. Just isn't going to happen." She shook her head at Brittani's apology. "S'not a problem. I know how these kind of things are, I've been there myself."
((bleh, sorry, it sucks.))
