Lilia wasn't watching where she was goin as she hurried towards her class. She bumped into a guy who appeared to be an upperclassman, dropping her books. She closed her eyes and muttered a few choice words under her breath.
"Sorry... my fault," she said, bending down to pick up her books.

Beofre he could take Nanette's bag from her, someone bumped into him from behind. Irritated, he turned to face whoever it was, ready to give them a piece of his mind. He opened his mouth to speak, but shut it immediately when he saw who it was. Switching gears, he bent down to help the girl pick up her books, checking her out discretely. She was gorgeous. He hadn't seen her before, but now he wanted to get to know her. "Don't worry, it's alright." he assured her, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm okay," Lilia replied. She picked up the last book and took her things from the person she'd bumped into. He was cute, but Lilia was too shy to say anything else. She glanced down to make sure she had everything and prepared to go to her class.

"I'm Eric," he said, offering the girl his best smile. "You're new here, aren't you? I don't think I've seen you here before."

"Lilia," she replied, smiling back shyly. "My family just moved here from Virginia." She adjusted her books one more time.

"Lilia," he repeated. "That's a pretty name." He watched as she shifted her books before reaching out a hand to her. "Why don't you let me help you with those? I can walk you to class if you'd like. The school can be a bit confusing. Where are you headed?"

"Thanks," she replied, smiling a little wider. "I'm on my way to math... I think." She glanced down at her schedule. "I don't understand this stupid thing."

Eric peered over Lilias shoulder to look at her schedule, purposely brushing his arm against hers. "Yeah, you have math," he said, pointing to the third period block on her list. "It's just down this hall." He took her books from her and motioned for her to follow him. "So, Virginia? What brings you to our quaint little town?"

"My mom's fiancee lives here," Lilia replied, trying to hide the look of intense disgust that came on her face every time she thought about Roland. "They're getting married soon, so they wanted to move us here before it got too late in the school year."

Eric noticed the expression on Lilia's face as she talked about her mother's boyfriend and asked, "You don't like him?" As they neared the math classroom, Eric took a look at his own schedule. "Hey," he said, "We're in the same math class. That's great! Maybe we can talk, get to know each other?" he winked at her.

"He's... Okay, so yeah, I hate him," she replied. She smiled at Eric's comment. "Yeah, that would be nice. I mean, it's not like I really know anyone else to talk to." She smiled and walked into the classroom.

Eric let Lilia go into the classroom first, giving himself the chance to check out her ass. He grinned and thought, Math class just might be interesting this year, before walking through the door.
