Lilly could only copy the notes written on the board. In no way shape or form was she absorbing them, which probably wasn't good for her. She sketched tiny hearts and stars in the corner of her notebook's margin absentmindedly as the teacher went on. Eventually she'd listen. Eventually.

Angel stared at the clock as much as he could get away with. Why was gym so far off? Why was still an hour and something left of the period? He wasn't even concerning himself woth the note. He was way too far off in his own world for it to register. Would Tommy acknowledge him? Of course he would...Angel sighed deeply. Not too much longer...right?

Lilly tapped Angel on the shoulder. "Hey, did you catch that? I missed what Dale said." She was really out of it. Secretly she hoped that Angel would have been paying attention.

"Hm?" Angel asked, his concentration on the clock finally broken. "No, sorry..." he told Lilly with a frown. "Something about math...probably..." he trailed off as he realized just how dumb that sounded. Of course it was about math! "I mean...you know what I mean...."

Lilly laughed quietly first. "Yeah, I know what you mean. Damn. It seems like none of us can pay attention today. And you probably have a good reason too."

"It's a pretty awesome reason," Angel said with a barely concealed smile. He wondered for a moment, whether or not to say who the reason was. Considering Lilly didn't even know his orientation yet. "Let's just say...if gym class doesn't come soon, I'm gonna cry."

Lilly giggled. "You know, I have never had that opinion about gym, but...whatever floats your boat, right?" She winked at him, sighing after a moment. "I have to wait until the end of the day...feels like forever." Her head bumped against the desk lightly. "Wish I could just sleep until it's over. Got up kind of early today."

"Neither did I, until yesterday," Angel tilted his head down a bit to hide the smile that spread over his face. "Till the end of the day? That's harsh. Don't think I could wait that long," he sighed. It was hard enough waiting for third! But he was finding that talking to Lilly was making the time go a little faster. "I'd tell you to focus on something else but...that's easier said than done."

"Don't think I can either. Wonder if he has my lunch hour..." Lilly thought about this for a moment. It was sort of strange, in a sense, that the two of them both knew what they were talking about, even though they hadn't stated it outright. They just...understood.

"Hopefully. That'd make it a little easier," Angel shrugged. He quickly shut up as Dale turned around. She knew, though, of course. Dale always seemed to know. He began to pretend-write, stealing glances at the clock as often as possible.

Lilly held up her notes for a moment, just to prove to Miss Dale that she actually was working. "I hope so. So...I can't actually picture gym being fun! But apparently there's somebody there who'd make it fun...who? Who is it?" She poked Angel mindlessly with her pencil.

"I...I don't know if you'd know...him," Angel's smile grew, and he giggled as Lilly poked him. It was strange...being able to freely tell someone. But he could trust Lilly. He'd be very surprised if she disapproved. "He's a senior...Tommy Collins," he finished quietly. Just because he was telling Lilly didn't mean the whole school had to find out.

Lilly gasped quietly and covered her mouth, poking him with the end of the pencil again. "No way! Good for you! Yeah, I know him. He hangs out with my brother once and a while. Man, that's awesome! Lucky....you have a class with him. So unfair, Angel, so unfair!"

"Shhh..." Angel whispered, unable to stop the giggle that bubbled up. "Yeah...I'm pretty lucky. Just...don't tell anybody? I mean...I just don't know if he wants anybody to know...so..." he trailed off, smiling softly. "Yeah."
"What about you, though? I mean...any other day you wouldn't be caught dead talking during class," he pointed out, his cheeks still pink.

Lilly sighed for a moment, moving her fingers to twirl her pencil through them. "All right. I'll keep it zipped. Won't tell anyone, promise."
"That's so not true..." she added, still laughing quietly, holding up her notes again and pointing to them. Dale gave her a break on this today- she was generally a very good student and usually payed attention. "Okay, so maybe it is. Still. You know Caroline Sweet, right? You have art with her in the afternoon, if I'm correct. Not her. Her best friend, though..." Lilly trailed off, a faint blush crossing her cheeks.
