Atticus quickly closed the door of the greenhouse behind him. He paused only to take off his jacket and set his things down by the door. Once that was done, he walked over to the far corner and sat down with a book.
Nervous? No... he wasn't nervous.
Just a little wary of the door. He hoped there wasn't a class today.

((Hope it's ok I joined you))
Stevie sighed as she opened the door to the greenhouse. She just wanted to escape all the racket of the school. If she heard one more person ask her why she smelled like peppermint she was going to strangle them. She hussled in shutting the door with a click behind her. She leaned against it as if by sheer will power she was going to keep anyone else out. Glancing up, she realized someone else was in the greenhouse.
"Oh!" She began startled. "Sorry, didn't realize anyone else was in here."

Atticus looked up and raised his eyebrows at the girl. "Um... no, it's totally fine." He paused, "wait... you're not in a class that's coming here, are you?"

"No, there's no more classes in here today. Classes here only take place in the morning, so don't worry." She smiled in relief of being away from the crowded hallway. She had a feeling he didn' want to be bothered. Her eyeline fell on his book however, and she couldn't stop herself from asking him what it was.
"What book are you reading?" She asked quitely, sitting down so she could lean on the door.

Atticus held up the battered hard-cover book. "Um, it's To Kill a Mockingbird. Have you ever read it?" He opened his mouth, about to explain everything about the book from the plot to the character's names and pet peeves and the meaning behind the whole thing, but stopped. He could go... overboard... when it came to explaining books.

Stevie smiled "I love that book." She told him. "It's one of my favorites. When we read it in english, I was the only student who had her own copy." She grinned lightly. "You read alot?" She questioned. "I'm trying to find a couple good books to read. Sometimes work gets really slow and it would be nice to have something other than homework to do."

"I read when I can, and sometimes when I can't." Atticus replied. "I'd suggest a book for you, but I don't really know what you're in to as far as genres go."

"I'll read just about anything really." Stevie replied with a grin. "I read books mostly on recommendation, otherwise I'd read the same four or five books that I have." She settled her back more comfortably against the door. "I've read Moby Dick so many times that two of the pages are worn out and the binder is completly fractured."

Atticus laughed. "Really? I didn't care for Moby Dick... sure, it's a classic... but I just couldn't get in to it."
The next question made him feel rather stupid. "Um... have you read The Godfather?"

"It's usually a love it or not so much book." Stevie said with a shrug. "I loved it, but I got into it pretty quick." When he asked if she'd read the Godfather she nodded. "Yup, my brother has it and I stole it last summer." She laughed. "I quite liked that one too."

"What other books have you read? Lately I've been confined to only a few-- I haven't had time to buy others." Atticus said, slipping the bookmark into his book and setting it aside.

"I've read most Mark Twain stories, and a lot of Charles Dickens. I tend to veer towards the classics. But I guess that last book I read was Jurassic Park. I really like that story. The movie was good too, but the story was better. Once you got past all the computer jargon that is." She smiled. "Have you read that one?"

"No," Atticus said, "I don't think I've read that. Have you ever read Schindler's List? That was hard to get into. Every time I opened it and started to read, I felt like I was about to fall asleep."

"Nope, I never read that one." Stevie said with a shrug. "That never seemed to catch my interest. when I was little, my brother said I liked to read books older than I should. He would try to get me to read, Babysitters club or something like that, and I wanted to read a Christmas Carol, even if it was the middle of July." She laughed. She checked her watch and frowned.
"Oh man, I better get out of here. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone you in here." She smiled brightly, heaved herself upright and hurried out the door.
((Stevie out to somewhere lol))
