Lilly continued the process of floating through her day. Just two more hours, that was it. Two more hours and she would be out of school. Two more hours and she would see Dwayne again- she didn't see him in the cafeteria, and that meant they wouldn't have the same lunch. Of course they wouldn't have the same classes.
Lilly carried her tray along the line, getting her submarine sandwich and sitting down at the usual table as she waited for Angel and April. It always took them awhile. Hopefully nothing would start between her and Cathrine. She didn't want pudding hair today.

Cathrine walked into the cafeteria and twitched her nose when she saw Lilly. Ugh...Lilly. The girl dating poor Dwayne...she did dump him, and he WAS a fag lover...but, he deserved better than Lilly.
"Lilly!" she said in fake kindness to Lilly, "How are you and Dwayne? He annoy the hell out of yet with his uncoolness and fag lovingness?"

Dwayne sighed softly as he walked in. The day seemed to be dragging along. Usually he didn't even eat in the cafeteria, but today being surrounded didn't seem so bad. He glanced around for a place to sit when he caught a glimpse of familiar blonde hair. His jaw dropped for a moment before he walked closer. "Lilly?"

Lilly tilted her head upwards to answer Cathrine. "Nope. Hasn't annoyed me in the slightest." While positioned like this, she noticed a certain pair of brown eyes out of the corner of hers. "Speaking of Dwayne...hey," she greeted softly. "Didn't know you were here."

Dwayne glared toward Cathrine as she bothered Lilly, but his smile returned as he walked closer toward. "I didn't know you were here" he responded. "You mind if I sit here?" He kissed her on the top of her hair, quickly taking in the smell of her hair. His smile widened.

Cathrine made a disgusted, 'ugh.' That was disgusting! Lilly and Dwayne! Ew, no! She had to do something about this!
"Dwayne?" she asked as innocently as possible, "Can I talk to you alone for a minute? It's REALLY important."

Dwayne glanced up, glaring at Cathrine. "You seriously think I'd actually bother talking to you. I'm ashamed to acknowledge your existence Cathrine, you know that." Honestly, the girl annoyed the hell out of him and she knew that all too well. Plus, he saw the look of disgust. Honestly, if he could turn back time to when he was dating Cathrine, he would have had an identical look on his own face at witnessing his own stupidity.

"Not at all," Lilly answered him. "Go ahead and sit. I certainly wouldn't mind. And, um...maybe you should take a minute before Cathrine starts biting off her fake nails. It does look a little important."

Dwayne listened to Lilly and sighed. "Okay baby, I'll be back in a little bit, okay?" His expression made it clear he'd much rather sit next to her than talk to Cathrine. He kissed her on the cheek before standing up straight. He stared at Cathrine pointedly before walking toward her. "All right. Shoot."

"My nails aren't fake!" said Cathrine, sticking her tounge out at Lilly and then turned to Dwayne.
"How do you really feel about Lilly?" she asked, "What does she have the me, and the millon other girls you dated don't?"

Dwayne sighed. That was what this was about? He didn't have time for this. "Okay, first of all, the use of hyperbole is not needed right now. I may have been a chronic dater, but I'm not that bad." He rolled his eyes slightly. "Anyway, I really don't think I need to explain how I feel about Lilly to you."

"Hyperbole?" said Cathrine, confused, "Chornic?" She pouted. "Dwayne, you KNOW I'm not good at Science! I'm just talking about the fact that you NEVER keep a girl for very long! I mean, you dumped me after a couple of months!"

Dwayne's fists clenched. He wasn't sure whether to walk away or throw a dictionary at her head. "Well, maybe if you weren't so closed minded that wouldn't have happened. But everyday I wake up and thank God I saw who you really were before things got too serious."
He sighed a bit. "Look...Lilly understands me. She's absolutely hilarious. I feel like I can talk to her about anything. She's beautiful..." He looked down. "Again, I shouldn't have to explain this to you, because I really don't give a damn about you." Still...talking about all of this...Dwayne could feel an epiphany coming on.

"I'm NOT closed-minded!" said Cathrine, flipping her blonde hair back, "And all I am is popular and awesome."
Cathrine rolled his eyes at everything Dwayne was saying. "Dwayne," she said, "Do you know who else you used to call pretty and funny? Me...and look where we are now!"

Dwayne's fists clenched and unclenched. "Yes. You. Are. If you would just realize that and fix it, the world would be a much better place." He looked back up, shooting daggers with his eyes. "And that was because I was stupid and the truth is, I only dated you because I thought that most people who were pretty weren't horrible. I may have been right, but I drew the wrong card the day I asked you out. Besides that, I..." He blinked slightly as his thoughts suddenly caught up with him. He was about to say he loved her. What the hell?! He just met her and he was saying that?
