Penny couldn't help it. She had to smile at that. He made her happy. "Okay..." she whispered, sending her smile up at him. "I'll try it."

"It's improving my mood already, if it helps any," Kyle told her, redirecting his gaze to the road. "Where do I turn now, Penny? We just passed the country club. I know you said Hillsdale...or is that not what you said?"

Penny smiled weakly as she giggled. "Hillside, actually Kyle" she responded, still looking out the window. "This is kind of fun...this whole conversation was actually." She glanced back toward him, her smile widening.

"Eh, I find I can be fun once and awhile. Oh, Hillside. Gotcha." Kyle put the car in reverse, taking another street. "This one. Okay. Why must they all put the word 'hill' in them? It's not even that hilly."

Penny giggled softly. "I wish I knew" she muttered. Then she leaned closer, smiling knowingly. "And I'll bet you're fun most of the time; you just don't show it enough. Or that's my theory."

Kyle turned towards her, looking at her over the top of his sunglasses. "Oh, really? Hm. I should think about that one." He glanced back to the road. "Which one did you say was yours again? Wow, these houses are bigger than mine...I thought we lived in a big house..."

Penny grinned lightly. "Glad you will" she responded. "And it's 89..." She glanced down. She wasn't really the type to flaunt how rich her family was. Although her fancy outfits was probably a hint to that. She sighed softly. "Anyway, thanks for this."

Kyle came to a stop in front of her house, parking the car. "Hope your parents aren't too mad that I drove you home. A little anger is okay." He winked. "I'll...see you? Soon, maybe?"

Penny blushed lightly when he winked at her, but looked away quickly before she maintained composure. She glanced back. "Of course...if I have anything to say about it." She sent him a wide smile before climbing out of a car. "Thank you so much for this."

"All right. And no problem, Penny. Any time you need a ride, I'm here." Kyle frowned slightly. "That didn't exactly come out like I pictured it in my head. You got the gist, anyway." He laughed. "See you soon, Penny. Good luck." He didn't leave, however. He was waiting for Penny to leave first- she had to shut the door before he could.

Penny couldn't help but laugh. "No, it came out fine." She smiled and nodded before she closed the door. "Thanks...bye..." She kept her eyes on him for a few moments before rushing toward the front door. Needless to say, she was terrified, but it almost felt like she had someone watching over her now. With a weak smile, she walked in.

Kyle waved from his spot in the driver's seat, watching to make sure she got in okay. Hopefully he'd see her tomorrow and her parents wouldn't do anything hideous to her. It really looked like they were going to be friends. Good friends. And that thought was just enough to get him home.
