April nodded with a wide grin. "Nice talking to you too. See ya tomorrow hon." She then hung up and engaged herself by watching the conversation between Roger and her little cousin. She was glad they got along. After all, having a boyfriend that didn't get along with family was always a tricky situation.
Penny smiled a bit. "Well...yeah, I guess you can say that." She didn't want to mention that she would've stayed in junior high if her parents let her. "And you have sisters? Cool. I'd love to meet them." The more the merrier, after all.

"Must have been hard, leaving all your friends like that. Parents probably made the decision for ya right?" Roger sighed a bit. "Yea two younger sisters, they are both freshmen as well. You might have a few classes with them." He smiled. He finished up the last of his ice cream.

Penny winced and tapped her nose with her finger. "You got it." She bit her lip and glanced down.
April shook her head before whispering to Roger, "Did I mention I really hate my aunt and uncle?"
Penny shook her head out of her misery. "Anyway, I'd love to meet your sisters. I'm sure they're really sweet."

Roger looked at April and nodded. It was really surprising on how some parents don't even care on what their child wants. It's only about what they want their child to be.
"Yea they are..and I'm sure they would get along fine with you. Maybe they have some classes with you.." He smiled at Penny.

Penny shrugged. "We'll see...hmm, looks like I'm done with this." She glanced toward April. "Anyway...I didn't mean to interrupt..."
April rolled her eyes and cut off her cousin. "Penny, don't apologize. You didn't interrupt anything." She rested her head on Roger's shoulder.
Penny didn't seem convinced.

Roger felt like he was the one interrupting. They needed to talk, he knew that and I guess it was pretty late. But he didn't feel like leaving April at the moment. He went against what he was thinking. "I better go, it's getting late and I'm sure Penny and you need to talk," He told April. "But first, I'll take you guys home, or actually April's house," He smiled toward April.

April raised an eyebrow toward Roger. "No, not particularly, right Pen?"
Penny shook her head. "We don't need to talk. At least not right now." She then bit her lip. "Actually...it'd be better if you at least took me at least closer to my own place. My parents are going to find out I'm gone soon enough."
"Let me guess? Extra dance practice? Because you're just not perfect enough for them yet?" April asked bitterly, crossing her arms. What she wouldn't give to be able to take Penny away from them. "Anyway, okay. We'll take you back to the hellhole."

Roger replied, "Oh okay sure. I'll take you back but hopefully your parents don't find out." He frowned knowing that Penny's parents could want a daughter so perfect that they wouldn't even bother about how she feels. He sighed and grabbed his car keys.
"Is everyone ready?" He asked.

Maureen walked into the ice cream shop and stoped dead in her tracks as she saw Roger and two other girls. Her eyes were locked on the older one...she was so pretty with her red hair brown eyes...perfect. She couldn't help but smile. She frowned...she loved Mark...she shouldn't be looking at this other girl like this, but she couldn't help it. She decided to go talk to her, though...because, well...Roger hardly hung out with people other than Mark, Collins, her and Benny.
"Hi," said Maureen to April, "I see you got Roger to hang out with other people...it's a miracle!" she said with a giggle.
She then turned to the younger one...she looked a bit fimalliar, "Aren't you that girl who jumped a grade?" She asked her

April almost answered before she heard a familiar voice. Rolling her eyes good naturedly, she waved toward Maureen. "Hey there." She chuckled at Maureen's comment before wrapping her arms around Roger's shoulders from behind. "Now come on. Let's not make Roger think he's socially inept."
Penny blinked a bit at yet another one of April's friends. She didn't know what the so called popular girls were thinking. April seemed more popular than any of them. Then the girl addressed her. "Um, yep, that's me. I'm Penny...April's cousin."

"Well," said Maureen with a giggle, "He kinda is."
"Oh, you're April's..." Then she paled a bit as it clicked...April? She was the same April who was dating Roger! So now not only was she crushing on a girl when she had Mark...she was crushing on her best friend's girlfriend!
"You must be really smart," said Maureen, "I mean, I'd NEVER be able to jump a grade....I'll be lucky if I get thourgh this grade, seeing how all my teachers hate me for just telling the truth!" she said bitterly, crossing her arms.
"Anyway," she said with a smile, "Your parents must be so happy for you."

Roger saw Maureen and smiled. "Hey! I can learn to hang out with other people, besides I have known April for a long time." He noticed the way Maureen looked when April put her arms around him. "So I heard Mark and you went to the dance together..I was shocked," He laughed.

Penny raised an eyebrow toward Maureen at her reaction. That was strange. She didn't say anything though. "Yeah...I'm April's cousin." She bit her lip at the girl's latter comment. "Oh, well...I..."
April frowned softly. "Actually...I think it would take her getting crowned Queen of the World to get her parents to be proud of her. And that's a stretch." She rolled her eyes. You didn't get her started on her aunt and uncle. It always ended badly.
((I thought Maureen and April were already friends, by the way...))

"I was shocked he asked me without fainting," said Maureen, giggling, "He's such a nervous little guy...sweet though."
"Why not?" Maureen asked. Penny was smart enough to jump a grade. Wouldn't that make her parents proud?

Roger laughed, "That's Mark. I can't believe it, just this morning, we were talking about how he has such a huge crush on you and that he couldn't even talk to you. He's starting to get out of his comfort zone.." He was happy that his best friend was finally learning to live in front of the camera rather than behind it.
