"Chocolate..." said Maureen, "Can't go wrong with chocolate." Maureen giggled. "That wouldn't taste very good...and I know what toothpaste tastes like...when you're six it's actually not that bad a flavor," she said, remembering when she was little and used to shollow toothpaste,
"It loses it's flavour once you reach ten, though," said Maureen, shuddering at the memory of figuring out basically what was REALLY in toothpaste...not a pleasant memory.

Mark smiled at her. "Chocolate it is, then. Do you want it in one of those chocolate-dipped waffle cones?" he asked. He couldn't help but laugh a little as she talked about eating toothpaste as a child. It was pretty funny, in his opinion. "I did too, when I was little. But that was before my mom would give me real toothpaste to brush my teeth. She always gave me that fruity stuff they give to really little kids. Part of the reason I hate minty toothpaste," he said.
((ooc - lol, now I want one of those cones!! And yeah, mint toothpaste is gross. Mint anything is gross, IMO))

April chuckled a bit. "Well shame on you Roger," she said, whacking him on the arm playfully. "You should tease your best friend like that." She winked as if to further indicate she was kidding. It wasn't her style to tease friends when they started dating someone, but hey, to each his/her own.
She turned toward Maureen and Mark. "Well then, I hope you two lovebirds don't mind if we leave you alone then? I mean, we already ate, so there's no need for us to hold you up." She rested her head on Roger's shoulder as she waited for a response.

Roger smiled at April, "Well I did know him since we were in diapers and he's like a brother to me. So I have the right to tease him." He loved every little thing about her. It seemed so soon but this feeling was new to him.

"Oh, I love those!" said Maureen happily, "I don't like the plain cones..they're so bland and boring."
"Ewww..." said Maureen, "The fruity toothspaste sucks...I tried it once...it felt all weird on my teeth and I didn't want to brush my tounge with that stuff." She made a small shudder at the memory of the toothspaste.
"Don't hate on the mint just because your mom gave you that yucky fruity stuff," she said, "Mint's cool...it's reafreshing to your mouth."

Mark smiled at Maureen. "Then chocolate in a chocolate dipped cone it is," he said. He stepped up to the counter and placed her order, ordering himself a scoop of cake batter. His mother didn't let him eat raw cake batter, but he loved how it tasted.
Mark shrugged about Maureen's comment on fruity toothpaste. "I actually sort of liked it. The mint... I just never liked it much," Mark said. Note to self: buy new toothpaste.

April tilted her head and pursed her lips with consideration. "Well..." She smirked lightly. "I guess you do have the right to. Just don't abuse it, got it?" April sent him a wink before kissing him on the cheek.
Having missed the beginning part of the conversation, she raised her eyebrow toward Mark and Maureen when she realized that their topic of conversation was...toothpaste? What the hell? "How did you guys wind up talking about toothpaste?"

"Okay okay I'll try not to abuse it," He smiled at her. Toothpaste? They talk about the most interesting things these two...
He felt pretty bored right now since he already had ice cream and was doing nothing at the moment except being with April. He wasn't really a guy to be just standing around. But he kept his thoughts to himself.

Maureen nooded at Mark and smiled as he placed her order. "Nice choice," she said with a smile as Mark placed his own order, "I've always liked cake batter...it reminds me of when I was kid and would lick the sthingy when mom baked cakes..." she smiled...it was always very rare when her mom baked cakes...really, only on her birthday...so, it was always a treat when she got to lick cake batter of the sthingy.
"Oh," said Maureen, giggling as April questioned them, "I was just telling Mark why the mint ice cream tasting like toothpaste isn't really a bad thing."

Mark smiled. "My mom never let me lick the sthingy. She was always afraid I would get salmonella poisoning or something," he replied, shaking his head. He took Maureen's ice cream from the scooper and handed it to her, and then took his own before pulling some money out of his pocket to pay.
Mark felt his cheeks turn a little red as April questioned them about their topic of conversation. Sure, it was kind of strange to talk about toothpaste. But he really hadn't thought anyone was listening to them. Besides, talking about such strange things was part of what made Maureen fun to be around.

April nodded in approval of their ice cream choices and out of understanding of their conversation topic. "Ah, I see. Funny how ice cream leads to interesting conversation topics, isn't it?" She chuckled, although she was pretty serious on that. She had had some of the oddest conversations all because of ice cream.

Roger just quietly stood there and looked around the place. He seemed to have drifted in his thoughts and didn't hear anything that April was saying to Mark and Maureen. He hoped that his sisters were doing okay at home but they probably were busy doing homework or something.

((Sorry for stepping on your toes, but I have to get April out of here.)) April shook her head at the two and then checked the clock. She had to get going to her aunt and uncle's place to pick up Penny and her new friend. She let out a groan. She was having much more fun this way, but what could she do?
"Guys, I'd love to say, but my little cousin needs me." She placed a kiss on Roger's kiss. "I'll see you tomorrow baby," she whispered, squeezing his hands once before walking out. "Ciao love birds!"

Roger kissed April back and told her goodbye. He watched her leave and decided to go home as well. His sisters were probably waiting for him but maybe he would go somewhere to think or something. "Well Mark, I'll see ya tomorrow morning, call me up if you need a ride to school. I'll see ya later Maureen!" He smiled and walked out the door.

"That's stupid," said Maureen, "If you could get sick from licking a sthingy, you'd get sick from eating cereal..." That would suck 'cus she liked cereal.
Maureen toke her ice cream from Mark, "THanks," she said and giggled as she saw him blush. "You're cute when you blush."
"Bye guys!" she said to April and Roger as left. Strangly she was more upset April left than Roger leaving...she shook the feeling off...Roger was, afterall, Roger.
"Alone at last," she said with a smile to Mark.
