Angel let go of Tommy's hand a few minutes away from his place. It wasn't that he wanted to, and he knew Tommy understood. With a deep sigh, he reached into his pocket for his key.
"We won't be here too long. Just...you know. Don't make any hints," he said quietly. "I mean, you can be pleasent and everything, just...you know."

Tommy put both of his hands into his pockets and nodded. "It's all good Angel. It'll be fine..." He felt the need to reach out and squeeze Angel's shoulder, but he held back. It wasn't exactly a tip off although he didn't want to over due it. Just in case. "And I'm always pleasent don't you think?" He asked with a semi-fake smile holding back a giggle.
"You can do this," Tommy whispered to Angel.

"Do you really want me to answer that?" Angel teased, sticking his key in the lock. Sighing deeply, he turned it slowly. "I know," he said quietly. He hoped he could. But with Tommy there he was just a little more confidant.
"Home!" He called, petting the cat as it brushed up against his leg.

Tommy chuckled quietly. "Later, later." Then he watched Angel carefully as they walked in. All he cared about was getting Angel what he needed and getting out of there. Not that he didn't want to deal with Angel's family, he could just tell already that Angel was a little less excited about going home.
Tommy gulped looked around the house. Then he paused to look down at the cat and winked at him or her.

The house was small but nice, white walls with a mirror and a desk at the front. A small cross hung above the door.
"Home already?" a man appeared in the doorframe to the kitchen. Angel didn't look a thing like his father; whereas he was short with curls, his father was a tall man, straight hair, much more...masculine looking.
"Yeah, well...time flies when you're having fun?" Angel asked with a small laugh. "Um...me and Tommy...this is Tommy," he added, nodding towards his boyfriend. "We have a project to do. I was just gonna grab some stuff quickly for it...that okay?" he asked.
"Oh, well...I guess. Be back by seven?" his father asked. He eyed Tommy, smiling lightly.
"Of course, of course," Angel nodded. "Be right back," he told Tommy as he headed up the stairs.

Tommy glanced up at the cross and raised his brow. Religion wasn't really in his family, but even if it was, he wasn't sure he would have a cross in every room. He studied Angel's father carefully as he came in. Although he could see the resemblence, he wasn't a carbon copy. Which he supposed was a good thing.
"Hi," Tommy said quietly with a shy wave. "Nice to meet you." He wasn't sure why he was turning into a blushing flower. Maybe he didn't want to tip him off...either way. It was what happened. He was about to follow Angel up but he paused.... "Oh ok."
He sunk his hands into his pocket and nodded slowly wondering if he could or should say something to Angel's father.

Angel grabbed a bag from his room and took it to the bathroom. Luckily he knew where Anna kept her makeup; she didn;t have a huge selection but it would do fine. Throwing a few items into the bag, she quietly made it into her room. Sorry, he thought with a grimace as he reached into her closet to get a pair of shoes. Maybe...she wouldn't mind. Maybe he'd be able to tell her one day.
"Angel hasn't mentioned a Tommy," his father commented.

Tommy looked over at Angel's father with a pained look on his face. He was hoping to run in, grab, and run out. Not meeting the father. That was embarresing for straight kids whose parents knew that they were dating. This...was something more it seemed. Tommy tried to clear his throat but a tennis ball seemed to be stuck in there. He cleared his throat with more oomph and finally said quietly, "Oh well...we were just assigned as...you know....partners today."
Tommy tried not to wince at the mention of partner. That was a bad choice of word. But he couldn't jump to conclusions....he wouldn't. "New project." He nodded and looked at the stairway out of the corner of his eyes.

"I see..." the man nodded slowly. Tommy was...insistant. Maybe a little too insistant.
"Got the scissors and glue...and stuff..." Angel called as he bounded down the stairs. There was Tommy, and his father, and neither of them looked too...comfortable. Tommy looked like he wanted to crawl under a rock, hide away. "Uhh...you wanna get going?" he asked Tommy.

Tommy nodded slowly back. Then he looked up as Angel came down the stairs. He understood now....at least if he had to live in this house, he was pretty sure he would have a nervous breakdown. But then of course, he wasn't Mr. Schunard's son. "Cool," Tommy said just a bit too happily. "Um...yeah sure." He shrugged and then waved to Angel's father. "Nice meeting you."

"Be back by seven," his father reminded him, and Angel nodded. Did something happen? Swallowing hard, he opened the door. Tommy wouldn't have given anything away...he knew him better, he wouldn't. But then again, his father could be extremely perceptive sometimes...
"What happened?" Angel asked in a soft voice once the door was shut.

"Nothing," Tommy said with a nod and sigh of relief. "Well...I became a bowel of jello. I thought I would be all good and cool. Not so much." He rubbed the back of his neck and walked slowly down the walkway. "But I didn't...suggest anything. I don't think so. Just...awkward. Is he always like that?" He asked looking back at the house.
He took the bag from Angel just so he could keep his hand from taking his.

"Like...what? What did he say?" Angel asked, swallowing. Did his father suspect? Looking back at the house for a moment, he kept close to Tommy. Just because they couldn't really show affection at the moment didn't mean he was gonna stand to be so far away. "Does he...have suspicions?"

"He just said that you never mentioned a Tommy," He explained putting a tighter grip on the bag than necessary. "And I said that was because we were just assigned as partners in a class. And he just said...'I see.' And that kinda was it. I think some friendly nods from me and staring from your dad."
Tommy shook his head. "I don't think so. At most he thought I was strange. But you could probably say I forgot to take my meds or something."

"Okay..." Angel nodded slowly as they headed down the block. As soon as they were far enough, he brushed his hand against Tommy's gently. "He probably doesn't...you can never tell though. But...hopefully he doesn't," he shook his head. "Anyway, let's not think about that," he smiled gently. He had otjer things to think about...other, bigger things.
