Caroline stood in the Cohen's driveway wondering if she was doing the right thing. She mentioned it to her mother when she got home and Mrs. Sweet didn't even respond to her. So she didn't mind. Then again, she barely ever did. With a sleeping Jonas in her arms, she walked towards the door. She couldn't afford to get Jonas sick...it was better than any other alternative. And Lilly could handle it. Hopefully.
She readjusted the bag around her shoulder and pushed in the doorbell with her elbow. "Come on Jonas, wake up," She said quietly, bouncing him a bit in her arms. Even though he needed his nap, Caroline didn't want him to wake up with people he didn't know very well.

Lilly opened the door, brushing sleep out of her eyes. She'd taken to having naps whenever she got home from school, and today was no exception. "Hey," she greeted, barely recognizing the person at the door at first glance. "Oh! Caroline! And...tiny person! What's up?"

Caroline laughed quietly, as Jonas opened his eyes and looked up at Lilly with a vague interest. "Yes a small person. So it turns out that my spots are actually chicken pox. So um...would you be up to taking Jonas? This is him by the way," She said bouncing him in her arms. Jonas let out a giggle, holding onto his big sister. "Jonas this is Lilly." Then she looked to the girl and added, "If you can't take him I understand. I just...you know. If you can...but I don't want to be a burden."

"Oh, no, no problem. I talked to my mom about it. Here, let me take him..." Lilly leaned forward, taking the small child out of Caroline's arms. "He's a cutie. How old did you say he was?" She tapped Jonas's nose and watched him with a smile on her face.

"He just turned two, but don't worry, he's not so terrible," Caroline said reluctantly allowing Lilly to take her brother. Jonas looked up at Lilly and decided that a proper greeting would be to grab at her hair. "Jonas! Don't do that please," She leaned out to attempt to loosen his grip around Lilly's hair. "Okay maybe he has his moments. I'm sorry, Jonas let go!"

Lilly laughed. "It's okay, it's fine. It grows back." She gently pried her hair from Jonas's hand and bounced him a little bit. "Don't worry about him; he'll be fine. I promise."

Caroline relaxed, now believeing that Lilly could handle Jonas just fine. She bit her lip, as she didn't want to let him go. It would be odd without him around. Without having to listen for him every night when she was sleeping. Waking up when he would cry. "Okay...just here." Caroline pulled out a reciept from her pocket and scribbled down some information. "Here's my number, and my neighbor's number in case anything happens. Call me and I'll be over in a flash ok? Whether I'm in an oatmeal bath or not."

Lilly laughed and tucked the numbers into her pocket. "It's not a problem. We'll have fun. And I'll make sure to call you in case anything goes wrong. However, I'm not sure it'll be so great if you show up at the front door naked with the exception of oatmeal. My dad would have a cow." She played mindlessly with Jonas's small fingers. He was so tiny!

"Yeah," Caroline laughed nervously, the sight of someone else holding Jonas was getting to her. She would have to leave soon or she never would leave him at all. And she knew that he had to stay healthy. "Don't worry, I will clothe myself before I pick him up." Taking a step closer she kissed his forehead and then wiped away her "germs." "See you little guy. Okay?"
Jonas grabbed Caroline's nose. "Garo!" He called out then going back to staring amazed at Lilly's hair.
"Looks like he has a thing for blondes," Caroline replied then taking a step back. "I um...so yeah like I said...give me a call. Thanks so much again Lilly..." She said walking backwards very slowly.

Lilly laughed. "I suppose he does. He's gonna be a wild teenager later. A heartbreaker," she said, a smile on her face. "Sure. Call you if anything goes wrong. That can be done. Don't hurt yourself," she called, almost nervous that Caroline was going to walk backwards into a tree.

"Uh huh...yeah. I bet he is," Caroline waved to her baby brother and then almost tripped over a rock as Lilly called out for her not to hurt herself. Yeah, that was a sign. "I'll work on it....bye Lilly. Thank you. Bye Jonas." She needed to turn around, and she did slowly wishing that she could stay there. At the Cohen's for a few days...away from her mother. Whenever Jonas was gone, she seemed to loose more control. Ah well...she'd be fine. He'd be fine.

Lilly picked up Jonas and carried him around as she thought of what she could do. As she'd practically skipped half of the school day, she'd been able to finish all of her assigned homework (she'd get a free pass on the stuff that she missed). After a few minutes of pacing and bouncing Jonas, she remembered that she'd asked April to talk to Dwayne today. Hopefully she'd gotten around to it by now. Setting Jonas down on the couch, she picked up the portable phone in the kitchen and dialed April.
One ring...two rings...three...."Hey, April?"
