Brittani sank into a chair by the snack table and grabbed the first thing she recognized - cookies. She grabbed a few and leaned her elbow on the table as she ate the first one. Well, this sucks. she thought, rolling her eyes as she thought about what she must look like. She crossed her legs and leaned back in her chair, looking around at some of the couples. Who needs relationships?

Lilia sighed and folded her arms across her chest as she walked over to the snack table. She smiled at Brittani and picked up a cookie for herself. "I take it you find this just about as lame as I do," she said, hoping she had found someone to commisserate with. She had come because Josh had talked her into it, but she wasn't having fun. She knew that she wouldn't actually do much of anything there. She didn't feel very well, but that was becoming a fairly common event in her life.

"A lot more than lame." sighed Brittani, looking over at Lilia for a second. She shrugged, "Not much we can do about it though, unless you're up to recruiting for a food fight." she joked. Maybe she could toss a few cupcakes Caro - no, she wasn't going to let herself get that bitter. After all, it wasn't totally Caroline's fault. She shouldn't have been flirting like that either.

Lilia smiled. "I could probably talk Frank-N-Furter over there into it, if you want. He's usually up for throwing food. At least, he does all the time at home," Lilia joked, looking over at her cousin. She still couldn't believe that he was wearing that, of all the costumes he could have chosen. Plus, throwing some punch his way would be quite satisfying as revenge for being dragged to the event pretty much against her will. Lilia sighed. "So, what's got you so down in the dumps over here?"

"I think someone would try to throw him." laughed Brittani. Guess they're related. She had always wondered why people bought food costumes; she liked more detailed clothing. "Oh, what's got me over here?" Brittani sighed, "...Rejected by a crush."
Ha, rejected? Try compltely smashed, thought Brittani. She had never taken disappointment well.

Lilia smiled at Brittani's joke. "He kind of looks like a giant piece of licorice to me. Not that I would tell him that... he's obsessed with Rocky Horror," she replied.
Lilia's smile faded when Brittani told her what was going on. "I'm sorry. That really sucks," she replied, sighing. She sat down in the other folding chair. "I sort of know the feeling... Eric and I haven't been getting along that well lately. What happened?"

"...Licorice? Ha, I see it." laughed Brittani, "And that is a strange movie." Always had been, always would be. That movie had always just made her laugh.
"Well, to put it simply...She got the girl, the girl just...wasn't me. God, she looked like she thought I was gotta jump her or something..." answered Brittani, "...Sorry 'bout your thing, too." Brittani hated babbling about herself, she felt narcissistic. Not to mention incredibly selfish.

Lilia laughed along with Brittani. "Yeah, tell me about it. He's trying to find a midnight showing to take me to. Not that I haven't seen it enough times the past few weeks," she said, smiling.
Lilia sighed at Brittani's story. "Sounds like a real blast," she replied, sarcastically. She gave Brittani an apologetic smile. "If it helps, your love life still isn't as screwed up as mine," she added. She really didn't care who found out at this point. And at least she could make Brittani feel better.

"I've heard about those things. I've actually been kinda interested in going to one sometime...it sounds entertaining enough." said Brittani, thinking about some of the things she'd heard. Panty-runs, shouting, throwing things - all in all, it could be a night to remember.
"Oh yeah, it's a real party." joked Brittani, "Really, now? What's your story then? If you don't mind my asking."

Lilia smiled. "Josh has told me stories. He's been going since he was sixteen, every time there was a showing at the theatre back home," Lilia replied. "Apparently you're supposed to take a newspaper and a piece of toast, among other things."
Lilia sighed. "The whole school's going to know in a few months anyway, so I really don't care who finds out right now," she said. She glanced down at her hands before telling Brittani what was going on. "I'm pregnant. The father isn't too happy about the fact that I don't want an abortion."

"Oh yeah, I've heard that. And I'm not sure I want to understad it." she laughed.
"Oh...wow...definately heavier than my situation." sighed Brittani, "But kudos to you for not wanting the abortion."
Brittani had always detested the idea of abortion. Even if the child wasn't born yet, it was still a living human being. The thought of someone, even a doctor, just killing it upset her to no end.

Lilia smiled. "Let's see... there's also a water gun. Oh, and lots of cross-dressing. Of course, as you can see, my cousin's already pretty good at that," she said.
Lilia shrugged. "It's life. I screwed up, I deal with it." She took a deep breath. "I just wish he would get that idea out of his head once and for all. My mind is made up."

"I think the cross-dressing would be interesting." said Brittani, "And yeah. Gotta give him kudos for having the courage to wear that."
"That's a good philosophy, I'd say." she agreed, nodding to herself. [/i]I wonder if it'd be rude to ask who...?[/i] "Why's he so keen on the abortion idea?" Better just stick to that.

Lilia smiled. "He's always been one to surprise the whole world. When we were younger, I saw him put on one of his mother's dresses, some lipstick, and sing along with 'It's Raining Men' on the radio," she said, laughing at the memory.
Lilia shrugged. "He didn't want to have to tell our parents. He was afraid of what they would say. Plus, he's a senior and he thinks this is going to ruin the rest of his life."

"Oh my. That is surprising." said Brittani, "Sounds fun, though. My family's never been that kind of exciting."
"I'd be worried about the guilt factor." stated Brittani, "You know? Knowing that you took the chance of life away from a someone...whether they were born or not. If I was in that situation and that was my choice, I wouldn't be able to live with that knowledge...Oh, I'm babbling, sorry."
Brittani had a bad habit of not knowing when to shut her big mouth. What if I said something that hurt her...? Oh I'd feel so bad. I'm so dumb.
