1) Everyone play nice! Be nice to your fellow classmates and they will be nice to you. It’s quite simple. If you have issues with another person leave it off of the boards.
1b) Everyone is allowed three characters.
2) This is a pretty active site. Therefore in order to keep up you have to post at least once a week. When I say this I mean post in the rp section once a week. **If you post a lot in the general thread that's great and all but don't hold back the rp. The one exception to this is if you are waiting for someone else.** If you have an excuse like a vacation, post in the absence thread. If you do not post once a week you will receive a warning. If you do not reply or post in another week you will be deleted.
2b) Logically you should post once every three days. You won't get in trouble if you don't post in three days but you might fall behind in if you are rping with a large group. We'll try to be understanding, but there's only so much one can do. Moral of this? Post as often as you can. You can have a life, but try
3) The opposite side of this is people who post too much. Don’t go crazy. Please be considerate. If Angel, Mimi, and Roger are all in the same room and the two ladies go back and forth for hours Roger will be left behind. Use your better judgement, I’m not going to limit your posting. But please do be considerate.
3b) Just a little pet peeve, if you do rp a while and leave someone in the dust don't have your character say, "Mark's been awful quiet!" It's just rude.
4) Stay in character in the rp sections. In the General category feel free to talk as yourself. You may have ooc’s but keep them to a minimum and use (()) or [ ] to indicate this.
5) The usual rules for rping applies here. In short, third person past tense. No Godmodding. No moving other people’s characters. No smiles. No internet speak. Use proper grammar (like quotation marks *gasp*). For further explanation look for the thread entitled “RPG 101” which is in the introduction board. That thread will give you the basics if you are a beginner or need a refresher.
5B) Try to make your posts as long as possible. We know sometimes your muse is out getting food without you, but try. So one liners aren't so cool. If you need something to say think about where your character is in their life or what the room looks like. Something of that sort!
6) This is a PG-13 rated RPG. So no explicit sex or chopping off of bloody heads. If it wouldn’t be in a PG-13 movie then don’t post it. When it comes to swear words don’t over use them. Remember you can only use the f-word twice in PG-13 flicks. Play down the language.
7a) You are allowed to be in three threads at a time. But they be on seperate boards. You are allowed one thread on campus, one thread off campus, and one thread in the special events.
7b) Sometimes remembering all of the threads that you're in can be impossible. But now, this new thread might help. In the RPG section there will be a thread called "Thread Count." In this thread you must indicate what threads you are in at the moment.
For example: Say I'm Caroline doing my thread count.
On Campus: "Painting in the Autumn Sun"- Courtyard
Off Campus: the 99 Cent Menu is my God- Smittys
Special Event: Crew Rehearsal- Rehearsal threads
So there you have it. I have written down all of the threads that Caroline is in. That means if I forget where I need to post I have it written down. However! If you are switching threads you need to fix your thread count post. For example, Tommy just left the Football Stadium and is heading to the gym.
So his thread count page would look like this first:
On Campus: One...Two...Three- Stadium
And then when I joined Lilia in the gym, I go back to my thread count and change it to this:
On Campus: Really Hating Gym Class- the Gym.
It's up to you to be on top of this. The mods and I will be making periodical checks about this so make sure you're up on it.
8) If you are playing a canon, stick to their essence. Since this is an Alternate Universe rp canons will change slightly. For example, Collins goes by Tommy for the time being and is still in the closet. Make your character make sense, Mimi is not an exoctic dancer at the age of 16. But maybe she's in the dance club. If you have questions about this just make note in your personality profile and we can talk about it. Just make sure to have a starting point of the RENT canons. For example, Joanne will never be a cheerleader. And I doubt that Angel plays football...though she might be there for other reasons
8b) A word about OC's. If you are gonna play an OC do NOT base this character off of yourself or a character from something else. Oc's should be full characters on their own.
9) No student/teacher relationships. No allusions or even suggestions. NONE!
10) The rules will be changed, fixed, and added to. So it’s a good idea to skim through them every once in a while unless you want to be deleted.
10) In your character sheet, we have asked you for a code. The code is "lizard"
