Roger walked in the room and didn't know what to do. He read over his script and waited for his partner to come. He didn't really know her but hopefully they worked well together. "Wow I didn't know acting could be so hard.." He thought out loud when he was reading all the side notes on his script. He saw a guitar left out and decided to give it a try since he had nothing better to do.

Kat hummed the song to herself as she made her way into rehearsal, managing not to fall even though her eyes were glued to the script. She looked up as she heard another voice in the rehearsal room, not realizing her Perchik had arrived as well. She tucked the script under her arm, perching herself on a random chair. "Not many people do," she quipped in response to his spoken thought, crossing one leg over the other. "I'm Kat, by the way, if you hadn't figured it out," she added, not really trying to be a snotty bitch despite how she sounded.

Roger almost dropped the guitar when he heard his partner's voice. He smiled at her, "I'm Roger. It's nice to meet you. Is this your first time acting or am I the only one?" He was trying to make things not awkward between them since he was pretty much a closed person. It was April who made him loosen up a bit.

Kat winced as Roger nearly dropped the guitar, not having meant to startle him. "Sorry mate; didn't mean to scare you. Nice to meet you too. And no, this sin't my first time acting. I might as well live on the stage," she explained, smiling weakly. Sensing his awkwardness, she added, "Don't worry, I don't bite until provoked."

"Oh I see. Well if you already didn't guess by my question, I'm new to acting. Hopefully I don't make you look bad, wouldn't want to do that now." He explained. He put the guitar back where it belonged and walked closer to where she was. "Well I guess I don't want to provoke you then. I'm going to keep that in mind when we practice since we'll probably be seeing each other more." Not to mention we have to kiss too. I wonder if she knows April...she'll probably be okay about it though..

Kat nodded, smiling weakly. "I figured as much. And don't worry about it. If it happens, which I doubt it will, it happens." She shook her head slightly after she replied, smacking herself inwardly. Gah, there was no way to respond to that without sounding horribly conceited. She laughed softly at his next statement, shaking her head. "You don't seem like the type who'd provoke me, so I think we're good to go."

"Well I'll try my best to make sure it won't happen. So where do you want to start? We really have to sell that we really want to be together right?" He asked. He laughed a bit, "I know when to play around and when to get serious but I will try focus on it more." He wondered where his drama teacher was so that they could start.

"Like I said, don't worry about it," Kat repeated, shrugging. "It's not the end of the world. I think I'd be able to show myself in public if we wind up making fools of ourselves," she added, smiling weakly. She scanned over the script, chewing on her lower lip in thought. "Well, I'd say to start a few lines before the song actually starts, but if you'd rather jump right into song and dance, that's groovy with me."
She chuckled at his next question, nodding. "That's generally the idea," she replied. "Unless you'd rather be an unconvincing couple," she added, his meaning dawning on her not long after she spoke. "Ohh. I take it you're not flying solo at the moment?" she asked, a brow raised. "Don't worry, I've learned not to go overboard. I promise I'll do everything in my power to keep from making your girl jealous or anything. Don't want to break up a happy couple."

"Uh well I'm up for anything at the moment. But the lines before the song sound good to start with." He didn't really know what he was suppose to do since he was new at acting. He was embarrassed at her next response, "Yea I'm not, we recently started dating but she isn't really the jealous type..well from what I know. But she is the wife of one of my best friends," He laughed.

Mr. Hurston walked in the room with an air of sophistication. He knew that he was in charge and he loved it. "Hello my Perchik and my Hodel," He said holding his arms out to them as if he wanted to hug them from far away. "I will only be calling you by your character name from now on, so please, do not answer to any other name. If you value your preformance you should do the same in your daily life. As of your teachers, friends, and family to go by your new name. Then live in it...become your character!"

Kat paused a moment, letting his explanation sink in. The wife of his best friend? Then it dawned on her. Laughing, she replied, "Oh, this should be interesting then. Your girlfriend is playing my mother, who has to watch me run off to Siberia to be with you. Isn't it odd how life works?" She shook her head, glancing up as the doors burst open.
If she hadn't been in any of the school plays before, she'd have thought Mr. Hurston was a few fries short of a Happy Meal. But, knowing this was normal behavior for the man, she could only chuckle and glance over at Perchik to gauge his reaction. Catching his last comment, she turned fully to Perchik, asking, "Well, Perchik? This man is asking us to lie to others to further ourselves. Does this not go against what you've been teaching us? I know Papa wouldn't stand for it."

He laughed, "Yea it is odd how life works but it's also pretty funny. But it should be interesting anyways."
When Mr. Hurston walked in, Roger groaned silently so only Kat and him could hear it. It reminded him of drama class but he would have to deal with it. He was in a play after all. "Well Hodel, of course it goes against what I've been teaching. Neither I would stand for it."

Mr. Hurston smiled deeply as the students seemed to go for it. And create their own words dealing with their characters. It was positively delightful. "Wonderful! Wonderful! I love to hear characters get to know one another. Now before we begin, time for some breathing exercises don't you think?" He waved for the students to come closer to him. "Come lets get in a circle and breathe with one another."

Kat laughed a bit as Roger went along with it, glad to see he was at least dealing with Mr. Hurston's eccentricity. Most others simply thought he was insane and gave up on their character before anything had even begun. "Does it really matter whether we think so or not?" Kat asked Mr. Hurston as she settled herself on the floor. "Either way, we're doing the breathing excercises." She glanced over her shoulder at Roger, smiling as if to say It's alright, he won't bite.
