Dwayne let a small smile spread on his face. "That I think what way? That your brother's opinion matters to me?" he asked as he started parking by the school. "Why wouldn't they? You matter to me." He walked out of his car, leaning against it.

Lilly's heart skipped as she listened to him, glad that his exit hid her blush. She left the car as well to go walk up with him. "Really? I mean...thank you..." She bit her lip, glancing at her toes.

Dwayne chuckled lightly, smirking lightly. "Your welcome" he responded, taking her hand. He glanced around the generally empty courtyard and couldn't help but be thankful. Some alone time with Lilly was definitely not something he would object to. "So, how about we sit here until the bell rings?" Take your sweet time, by the way he thought, referring to the school doors opening.

Lilly leaned her head against his shoulder. The courtyard was so empty compared to yesterday afternoon. She took her cell phone out of her pocket with her opposite hand. "Sure. We've got about forty minutes until first bell, so...I have no objections..."

Dwayne wrapped an arm around her waist with a smile. "And I don't either" he informed her, letting her go for a moment to settle himself down. "Forty minutes? I'd say more than enough time, especially considering the fact that we tend to talk a lot."

Lilly sat at the curb with him, scooting herself next to him. She moved her head slightly to rest her chin on his shoulder. "So what classes do you have today?" she asked, reaching a hand across him to hold his opposite hand. "They're probably harder than mine. Actually, they would be, wouldn't they?"

Dwayne chuckled lightly, kissing her on the top of her head. "I would hope so...anyway...Science, English, Photography...all of my favorite subjects, so I'm generally happy. Not that I wasn't already." He stroked her hand with his thumb.

"Hmm...science. Didn't peg you as a science guy. But then again...I don't know what I'm saying, do I?" Lilly giggled quietly, rubbing her head softly against his neck. "It's early..."

"Nah, I can understand why. I just never lost my interest in experiments. Surely you didn't forget the Windex story?" he reminded her, smirking lightly. "I think my mother prefers the school's version. She finds my tendency to do those sort of things frightening."

Lilly giggled softly. As her mouth moved, her lips brushed the hollow of his neck. "Sounds like you. But your mother sounds smart. She's lookin out for you."

Dwayne smiled lightly at the feeling of her lips against his neck. "Yeah, I know she is. I think she was worried that I was going to blow up the house someday." He chuckled lightly as he stroked her hair a bit. "Not that I wasn't careful. I just tended to do those sort of things unsupervised."

"Next time you do one, give me a call. I'd be more than willing to come supervise you," Lilly whispered, looking up at him. She smirked good-naturedly. "That is, if your mom wouldn't mind my sort of supervision..."

Dwayne laughed slightly at her comment. "Perhaps...I mean, my mother tends to trust my judgements in who I spend my time with. Apparently, I tend to be close to people who are more sensible than me." He shrugged. "Not quite sure if that's entirely true."

"I wouldn't be so sure. Now I'm a tad worried about your mother. Did she never meet Cathrine?" Lilly laughed lightly, looking up at him.

Dwayne rolled his eyes. "She was the exception. My mother begged me to break up with her. I should have listened to her too; she usually reads people well." He wrapped his arms around her shoulders, looking into her eyes for a minute. "For the record, she'd really like you."
