This particular comment made Lilly giggle. "All right. No countdowns. We'll still have five minutes to get to class anyway. So what thrill is this, exactly?"

"I was actually asking myself the same question. I think I got so bored of suburban life that I started trying to make every little thing something to get excited about." He shook his head slightly and chuckled. "Because really, getting caught by the bell would just be awkward, wouldn't it? And I need to shut up now..." He kissed her lightly. There we go...

"I don't know which I like better, listening to you talk or having you kiss me. I enjoy both of them more than you probably know." Lilly grinned and kissed him back. "You know, you can always find something exciting in a situation."

Dwayne smiled weakly at her comment. "I might say the same thing about you..." He twined his fingers with hers. "Oh I know you can. Although I don't think I really need to try to find something exciting about this..."

"Why?" Lilly asked him, turning to lean her back against his chest. "Don't you like things to be exciting? Isn't that what you live for, or whatever?" She shifted herself, pressing her head against his neck.

Dwayne chuckled lightly as he wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. "Yes, it's exactly what I live for. But this is exciting enough. I don't need to search through this situation to find it; it's right there in front of my eyes." He kissed her gently on the top of her head.

Lilly blushed as she listened. "I'm really not that exciting. You give me too much credit as it is, really. But thank you. I appreciate it."

"And I just think you're too hard on yourself. And your welcome" he retorted, smiling gently at her. He kissed the side of her face. "Way, way too hard on yourself..." he whispered.

Lilly smiled softly. "You never did finish telling me what you see. All you told me was that you liked the way I look. Which is a nice compliment, but still..." She trailed off, waiting for him to fill in the gap.

"Hmm, good point...let's see...you're extremely easy to talk to, hilarious...you appreciate my sense of humor, always a big plus right there. Plus, I can just tell how smart you are. I just find you easier to relate to than most people." He looked down at her tentatively. "Does that help?"

"A little. Thank you," Lilly replied, grinning widely. "I like you for all the same reasons. Plus you believe what you're saying. That's a major turn-on." She giggled quietly to herself. "You know, if I actually used phrases like that."

Dwayne chuckled lightly. "Well, if you did, I would thank you for using them to describe me. And I'd like to add that you didn't judge me by what other people thought of me. Most people seem to do that. Now usually, I don't care, but...well, your opinion matters to me."

"And why would that be?" Lilly whispered. She tapped his nose with her finger lightly, a tiny laugh escaping her mouth. "After just two days? I feel special."

"Yeah I know...it's kind of weird. I kept telling myself to take it slow yesterday, but somehow I couldn't do that. And I'd love to be able to explain to you why it took so little time for your opinion to matter to me, but I'm not really sure." He shrugged a bit, kissing her on the top of her head. "It just does...you matter to me. That's all the explanation I can give you."

"Well, tell me when you figure it out. I'm dying to know." Lilly smiled, leaning against him again. "Oh, and tell me if my spine is bothering you. My brother never misses a chance to tell me that I'm getting too bony."
