Tommy nodded trying to pretend that Benny wasn't coming over. "Yeah, me and Mimi haven't gotten real close. I only know her through Benny really. And he barely brings her around," He replied with a sigh. One thing was for sure, when Tommy actually did get a boyfriend, he would treat him much better than Benny ever did. Oh yeah...I'm not bitter at all.
"Maybe," Tommy said quietly. "Unless he wanted to push it in my face." But he had to give him the chance. He knew that much. Tommy turned to look at Benny. "Skipping class again?" He asked him while crossing his arms showing that he wasn't going anywhere.

Benny stopped abruptly as Tommy turned to face him, surprised at his demeanour. "No, third period was over five minutes ago. Didn't you hear the bell?" Benny took a deep breath before continuing, "Tommy, I need to talk to you. Can we go somewhere, you know... I want to fix this."

"Oh...no I didn't," Tommy said rubbing the back of his neck. "Musta lost track of time." Yeah. I like Angel. All of that romanticay loosing track of time thing. Who knew that was actually real outside of romantic comedies?
Tommy shrugged. "You made it pretty clear on the track that it was gonna take some time for you to get used to this. So go ahead. Take your time, Benny. I don't wanna ruin your psyche or something. Make you question our past relationship or something. So you can go and adjust. I'm done adjusting," He said leaning against the wall and looking away.

Benny winced at Tommy's words. "I know I deserved that Tommy, but why the hell do you think I'm here? Of course I'm not questioning our past relationship - I want to make things better so I don't lose our friendship. I know I screwed up. I just didn't know what to say when you told me you;re-" Benny managed to stop himself, looking over at Angel. He didn't want to do this in front of someone. As far as he knew, Tommy hadn't told anyone else, and he'd be damned if he was going to screw this up even more by letting something slip.
"Look Tommy, we really need to talk about this, but not here. Why don't you meet me at my car when you're done here? We can talk in private, ok?"
Without waiting for an answer, Benny turned and walked out of the gym, hoping, praying that Tommy would meet him.

Angel stayed quiet through the whole conversation, chewing on the inside of his lip and trying not to look. He had no idea what it was all about, and from the way Benny left, he was pretty sure he wasn't gonna find out. He didn't want to pry, anyway.
"Well..." Angel started quietly. Should he comment on what had happened? Say goodbye and go to lunch? He didn't want to make Tommy feel worse...that was the last thing he wanted. "I guess...I didn't even notice class ended," he laughed quietly, weakly. "Are you..." he paused for a moment. "Are you alright? I know that's not what you wanna hear...but..." he trailed off.

Tommy watched Benny walk away and much to his chagrin, couldn't help but feel slightly guilty. It was a big deal. It was a completley new way of looking at things for Benny...maybe he should have been a bit more understanding with him. But Tommy knew that it wasn't that easy. That coming out was ten times harder than hearing it.
He turned to Angel and frowned. "Sorry...didn't mean to put you in the middle there. Yeah...the period went fast I guess..." Tommy nodded taking a deep breath. "I'm all right. I know I gotta go talk to him. But it's not really something that I want to do..."

"It's okay..." Angel said quietly. He wasn't sure what to do...luckily most of the other students had actually heard the bell and had taken off. And it was funy, because despite that fact, Angel still barely had the courage to look Tommy in the eye and smile. "I know...but...it'll be better once you do, right?" Angel tried to cher him up. He wasn't entirely sure he was dong a great job...but he was trying.

"I wish I could think that," Tommy said quietly. "I know he's trying but...I don't know if he's ever gonna be able to accept me. See me the same way again, you know..." Then he stopped realizing that Angel had no clue what he was talking about. "Sorry...I don't mean to be all cryptic...I'll explain later I promise...did you still wanna meet after school?" Tommy asked wondering maybe the whole Benny conversation set Angel off.

"Of course," Angel told him, nodding his head. "Well...it can't be that bad, can it? I'm sure...I mean, I don't know Benny too well...but he seems like a nice enough guy. If you give him some time I'm sure he'll come along..." Angel suggested with a small shrug. He wished he had more encouraging words, but he honestly had no idea what was going on.

"Yeah...he's nice enough," Tommy said with a bitter laugh. Then he shook his head. "No...no he is a good guy once you get to know him. I'm just hurt...but I can get over it." He looked up at the clock and frowned. Time seemed to be running against him.
"If you're gonna go to lunch, you better go. Don't want you to starve," Tommy smiled slightly. "I better go follow Benny, too. It was...it was really nice meeting you Angel. I'm sorry that I kinda...unloaded on you today. Thank you."

"My pleasure...you're making it seem like it was such a chore! It wasn't," Angel assured the senior, trying his best to cheer him up. It wasn't enough. Angel knew it wasn't enough. It wasn't what he wanted to do. He wanted to tell him it was alright...no. He wanted to...to...he didn't even know what he wanted, but whatever it was he was pretty certain he'd be too shy to even consider it.
"I guess I'll see you after school then. Course I might have to miss prayer club but what papi doesn't know won't kill im," he added with a wink.

Tommy laughed quietly. "I don't know I listened to myself and it sounded like some type of chore. Maybe washing the windows." For a time, he just looked at Angel reading the emotions on his face. He was sincere...and he actually cared. One period and this person cared about him. Yeah, that was impossible to find in a human being. To have so much acceptence and love. "Still...thanks."
"Yeah..." Tommy frowned. "You sure that you wanna miss that?" He asked him. "I don't want you to get in trouble cause I pulled you away in the name of rainbow sprinkles."

"You're welcome," Angel said quietly, not sure what else to say. It was such an easy thing, just listening to him...an enjoyable thing. Tommy was making it sound like he'd sent the younger of the two to hell and back. But he'd found the period and everything about it...beyond nice. Tommy was a breath of fresh air. Angel couldn't remember the last time he'd met someone so honest, so down to earth...he wondered if he ever had.
"It's fine. They don;t even know my name there, my father won't find out," Angel assured him with a wave of his hand. "I'll see you after school...we'll talk more then. But your friend is waiting," with a burst pf confidence he hadn't known he had, he placed a gentle hand on Tommy's arm. Swallowing deeply, he added, "I'm sure it'll be alright...he obviously cares. It'll probably just take time," he removed his hand, his eyes focusing on a real interesting speck of nothing on the floor. "Guess I'll see you after school, huh?"

Tommy nodded slowly, he really didn't mind. He smiled gently and said quietly, "You know your name kinda fits. Even though it's not straight off Angel different pronunciation and all. I think it fits you. At least, you were my angel for this period. I really don't know where my head would have been..." Tommy knew that the farther away he was from something, the less he talked about it, it all made the situation worse. He would feel horrible about himself and Benny. Probably doubt himself and not have that confidence boost that Angel gave him. He really was an angel.
Tommy was caught off guard when Angel touched him. It wasn't that he was angry about it or anything. He never had much of a personal space bubble. But...it was nice of him. Most of the guys Tommy knew would never ever touch him in such a comforting manner. Maybe a pat on the shoulder. But a manly pat. This was different. "Yeah...thanks...I'll see you after school." When Angel took his hand away Tommy thought for sure he felt a breeze. He shivered lightly and nodded. "See you then." With a deep breath, he headed towards the locker room.
Well...that was...nice.

Angel was sure any of his original colouring was gone, replaced by a bright red. He'd been called 'Angel' before...but most of the time it wasn't in such a nice way. Most of the time, it was to mock him. But this was completely different, and he could tell that Tommy was truthful. Angel shrugged. "Thanks.." he said sheepishly, the smile on his face ever-present. "Yeah...I'll see you after class," he agreed, before heading to change quickl and grab his lunch from his locker.
