Tommy Collins, senior, trickster, was confused. He leaned on the Bridge and looked down into the water. Small fishes were swimming against the current. Some people would say that they weren't the smartest fish...but Tommy had to appreciate them. Going against the grain.
He sighed deeply and looked back at the school building. Second period was gonna start soon, but he just wouldn't be able to concentrate. And Mr. Newley would understand. Tommy looked down in the water again and sighed. "Maureen...I'm...Mo...Benny I'm...I like guys," He tried out on the silent fish. "Don't hate me."

Cathrine hummed a pop song she just heard on the radio recently...seriously those songs were the coolest! Some people thought she was preppy for liking them..but, they were lame nerds and obviously not worthy of one inch of popularity.
Her smile soon widened when she saw a guy looking down on the Bridge...hottness alret.
"Hey," she said to him with a smile, "I like the way you dress...very cool." And with that, she fluttered her eyelashes at him.

Tommy jumped when he heard someone speak. When he saw who it was, he tried not groan. Not that he hated Catherine, but he knew who she was and what she wanted from most guys who "dressed way cool." But he'd be pleasent...
"Hey. Um...thanks," Tommy said looking down at his simple jeans and sweatshirt. It wasn't really fashionable in his opinion...not that he knew what was fashionable. And not that he cared. "Catherine, right?"

"You're welcome!" said Cathrine with a smile and nodded to his question. "Of course I'm Cathrine!" she said, "What other name for the most popular girl in school!" She then tossed her blonde hair to the side in order to look flirty and as the popular girl she was.
"What's ya doing on the bridge all by yourself?" she asked flirtatiously

Tommy's eyes just went wide. Then he coughed quietly into his fist. "Yeah...yeah of course." Don't roll eyes...don't roll eyes...don't...no don't! Tommy managed to hold himself back.
When she asked what he was doing on the bridge, he paused. What could he tell her? That he was trying to work out how he could come out to his friends. Yeah, she'd take that well. Knowing the populars at the school, she'd run away screaming and crossing herself. "I'm...thinking too much," He decided to say. "Aren't you worried about missing second period? Tommy asked pointing back towards the building. It wasn't that he was trying to get rid of her...ok maybe he was a little.

Cathrine twitched her nose. "Ugh, thinking too much sucks," she said, "It happens to me every day when I look in my closet and have to decide what to wear...of course, it doesn't matter, all my clothes look hot!" She then tossed her hair to the side again.
"Ugh," said Cathrine, "I had P.E., I said I was sick...one day I'm getting out of that class; it's gross and makes you look all sweaty."

And let me guess, it gives you a headache? Tommy shook his head. Be polite dammit! Then he took a deep breath trying to think of something nice to say. "I guess...as long as you think you look hot...that's all that matters."
"You were sick?" Tommy asked looking at her carefully. She seemed just fine to him. "Yeah...well...sweating happens." Frankly, Tommy didn't mind the sweaty look...he cleared his throat. No reason to think of that either.

"Excatly!" said Cathrine with a giggle, "And ya I'm sick...sick of P.E.," she said and made fake gagging noises, "It's disgusting and makes me wanna puke."

Benny made his way quickly to the bridge, knowin he would probably find Tommy there. As he got closer he noticed someone very... pink... standing and talking with Tommy. Trying to grab his attention, Benny threw Tommy a look to say, what are you doing with her?

Tommy blinked a few times as he let Catherine's words sink into him. "Well...I hope you don't really puke. That wouldn't be fun..." He said with a sigh. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Benny. Thank God! With a smirk, he nodded at the look his friend was giving him.
He mouthed, 'Save me!' To Benny while making sure that Catherine couldn't see his lips.

Cathrine giggled. "Yep, puking isn't hot." She then inched closer to him. "Hey, I was wondering...after school would you like to go to the Santa Fe Cafe with me? It's where all the popular kids go!," she said with a giggle, flutter of the eyelashes and another hair toss

Stifling a laugh, Benny waved at his friend. "Hey, Tommy. What's up?" He looked Cathrine over quickly, trying not to show his distaste. "Hey Cathrine." He said, with as much neutrality as he could muster. Why does she have to be here right NOW? he thought to himself. I really need to talk to Tommy.

"Oh...and does that make it better than any other place?" Tommy asked. He couldn't help it, he had just had enough. But he didn't allow Catherine to reply. Instead, he looked to Benny and waved.
"Hey, man!" He waved to him. "Nothings new really. Boring same old...same old." Besides that whole being gay thing...though I suppose that is same old...I just didn't realize it. "What are you up to?" Tommy asked wondering if ignoring Catherine was any type of polite.

"Of course!" said Cathrine with a smile, then frowned as Tommy started talking to Benny. She pouted; he was ruining her flirtyness and change at a date!
"Hello, Benny," she said, crossing her arms, "Me and your friend here were actually in the middle of settling a small date at the Santa Fe Cafe? Ever been there?"

Benny caught the tone in Tommy's voice when Cathrine asked him to go to the Café with her. Deciding to help him get out of it, he said, "Oh, nothing much. Just wanted to make sure you didn't forget about our, um, history project that we're supposed to work on after school." Benny hoped his little lie didn't sound too fake to Cathrine - then he caught himself. Was anything too fake for Cathrine?
