Josh sighed. "I'm not sure that I really even care what he thinks," Josh replied. He pulled out his cell phone as it began ringing and raised an eyebrow. "And it's Chris. I'm really not in the mood to talk to him right now," Josh said, silencing the phone. He put his phone back in his pocket. "I need to figure out what I'm going to do before I try to deal with Chris." Josh shook his head and glanced down at his watch. "The bell's going to ring soon," he said, picking up his backpack. "We should head back towards the building." Josh started walking, and then turned back to Tyler. "Thanks, man. It was really nice of you to let me get all of this off my chest. I'll see you around, okay?"

Tyler waved goodbye to Josh and smiled. He looked back out over the bridge and sighed. He knew the bell would ring and he would be late again if he didn't run there. He did a stretch and started dashing to the school.

((so sorry Rob... I never saw your post!!))
Josh noticed another guy had walked up. Josh smiled at him, noticing that he was pretty cute. "Hey. Sorry, I didn't see you there," he said. Josh glanced down at his watch. "The bell's about to ring... you want to walk with me?"

[It's ok...and sorry I didn't post sooner...didn't notice you posted. ] Rob instantly felt butterflies. Yes, he wanted to walk with him! Of course...he wanted to say that'd be great! It'd be wonderful! A quiet, "Sure," though, was the only thing that came out of his mouth.

Josh smiled down at the other guy. "I'm Josh, by the way," he said. He tried not to stare, but the guy was pretty cute. And since things with Chris were pretty much down the garbage disposal at this point, he really didn't feel guilty about that assessment. "So, what class do you have right now?"

"I'm Rob," said Rob shyly, "I have History...but I accently...um..well, I thewr my food on Cathrine Moor by mistake..and I don't really want to deal with her right now."

Josh couldn't help but smile at Rob's comment. "Is this the same Cathrine who has an insane crush on my cousin's boyfriend? Because if she is, she deserved it," he said, smiling at the boy. "Well, I'm always up for skipping. I don't feel much like listening to a teacher talk about psychology for an hour and a half. And I can probably talk Lilia into forgetting that I wasn't in class..."

Rob shurged. "I don't know...whose your cousin's boyfriend? Well, I don't usually skip...if my dad found out he'd kill me...but, I have a feeling having to face Cathrine for about an hour...is much worse than a 30 minute lecture."

"Eric Cass... why she would want to date a homophobe like that beats me, but whatever." Josh sighed. "My dad would too, if he actually gave a shit anymore. But when you're a politician and you have a gay son, you tend to disown him," Josh said, sarcastically. "Sorry... my whole life has kind of gone down the crapper the past few weeks. My aunt and cousins are pretty much the only members of my family that will still have anything to do with me." Josh rolled his eyes.
"Well, deciding which one would be worse really depends... mainly on whether or not you would be afraid to get a detention... but we won't go there, because Lilia might kill me for corrupting people so soon after starting school here." Josh smiled at the younger boy as they walked. "If you're up for skipping, you'll have to figure out where to go. I still don't know this school very well."

"Well," said Rob, crossing his arms, "She seems pretty homophobic to me." He then frowned, "Sorry, I know it sucks when your parents can't take you for what you are." He was actually surprised his dad hasn't kicked him off the streets yet.
"If it keeps me from being at home for a while," Rob said with a shurg.

"Sorry... I shouldn't be putting this crap on strangers. Some times my mouth opens and whatever I'm thinking about just sort of pops out. Part of what pissed my dad off so much he kicked me out," Josh replied. He smiled down at Rob. "I understand the feeling." He sighed. He stopped and turned to Rob.
"If I were to ask you a question, would you get offended? You wouldn't have to answer... I'm just kind of curious about something..." Josh said. He closed his eyes as soon as he realized what he'd said. "That didn't come out right."

"It's ok," said Rob quickly. He wanted this guy to like him...and what he said didn't really bother him...made him made at all homophobes, but, that was it, "It just makes me mad at how homophobic people can be."
"Not at all..." said Rob, although, he raised his eyebrow. What was he curious about. Something in his mind knew. "What are you curious about?" he asked anyway.

Josh couldn't believe that he was about to ask this question to a guy he'd only just met. But better to find out now than to screw things up later by making assumptions. At least, in Josh's experience it was better. "You said something a minute ago about knowing how it felt when your parents can't accept you for who you are. What did you mean by that, exactly?" Josh asked. He decided that tiptoeing around the question was a good strategy in this case. That way he didn't risk offending Rob. Because considering the way he was feeling, he really didn't want to offend him.

"Well," said Rob, a bit nervously, bitting his lips a bit. Hopefully, he wouldn't judge him. Some people just wouldn't like him once he said he was gay..and he didn't want Josh to not like him. "I'm gay," he said, after a sigh. Might as well get it over with.

Josh took a deep breath and smiled. "To be honest... I was sort of hoping that would be your answer," Josh admitted. "So far the only other gay guy I've met here is Tommy. And he has a boyfriend, according to Lilia." Josh stopped for a moment. "What about you?" he asked.
