Eric held Lilia's hand as they walked into the Café. As he had predicted, it wasn't very busy. He asked the waiter for the booth at the back and smiled when he heard it was free. Allowing Lilia to walk ahead of him, they moved to the back and sat, Eric immediately flipping open his menu and smiling over at Lilia.

Lilia sat down and opened her menu. She glanced over her choices with a sigh. "It all looks really good," she said, smiling at Eric. "What would you suggest?" she asked, looking over the menu once again.

Eric pondered the menu a minute, trying to decide what she might like. "The Chicken Santa Fe is really good," he said, "Plus you can get fries with it, and the fries here are the best!" Eric smiled sheepishly as his own enthusiasm for fries. "The ribs are really good, too, but I usually just get the Mexican burger or the Stacked Enchiladas." He shrugged, "Really, I haven't found anything on the menu I don't like... except the Prawn Monterrey. Don't get that," he warned with a chuckle. ((Heh... I used this menu www.thesantafe.com.au/id23.htm, 'cause I'm cool like that... lols))

"Thanks for the warning," Lilia replied. She glanced over the menu again. "I think I'm going to go with your first suggestion. That sounds really good." She closed the menu and smiled at Eric.
((hehehe... I've been watching Degrassi this morning... so this is really funny to me))

Eric nodded, closing his menu and smiling at Lilia. He was about to speak when the waitress came by. He ordered the Stacked Enchiladas, along with a chocolate milkshake - something he could never pass up at the Café.
After Lilia had ordered, he handed the waitress the menus, thanking her, then reached across the table to take Lilia's hand. "I heard you got first violin in the musical," he began, "You happy with that?"

Lilia ordered and handed over her menu. At Eric's question, she made a face.
"Yeah, I did. And I still want to kill the person who invented such a stupid instrument," she replied. "That answer your question?" she asked, smiling at him.

Eric laughed. "Yes it does. Well, I'm a runner, even though I have no idea what a runner is. Whatever it is, I'm doing it by myself, so I can take lots of breaks." He winked at her suggestively. "Whenever you need a break from the violin, just come see me."

"It means that you're doing things like opening the curtains," Lilia replied, smiling at him. "So I don't know how much you'll be able to take breaks. Depends on the director. However, when they're going over lines twenty million times we might get a few minutes together," she said.
"So, can I ask what made you sign up to help? Because you really don't seem like a theatre person to me."

Eric's grin faded as she described his job. Curtain puller? God. "Oh," he said, lamely, "Well, I guess I'll have to hope for a lot of repitition, then." He sighed, half-smiling at her. "I signed up for the credit. If I can put it toward my Math class, I might be able to pass, and graduate." He tried to say it lightly, but deep down, he was incredibly worried that he wouldn't get to graduate this year.

"I think we'll both be hoping for that," Lilia replied. "Hey, if the credit makes you pass math, it will be well worth your time. Of course, you've also got my help this time around, so hopefully that will help some, too." Lilia could tell he was worried about it. "You'll pass. We'll stay up all night every day for a week before the exam if we have to."

Eric smiled, laughing a little at Lilia's suggestion. "I could handle that," he said, "As long as it's with you." He squeezed her hand, smiling gratefully, "Thanks." Their food arrived and he dug in, feeling hungrier than he realized. The enchiladas were amazing as always.
After eating quietly for sometime, Eric spoke. "So, my mom's working tonight. If... uh... if you'd rather, we can watch the movie at your house." After this afternoon's halted activities - which were currently all he could think about - he didn't want to make her uncomfortable, and he worried that being alone with him in his house might do that.

Lilia smiled at him as their food arrived. She started eating her chicken, until Eric started talking. "We can watch it at your house. I mean, Josh is probably going to be unpacking most of the night. We wouldn't be able to hear the movie over him," she replied. She bit her lip, knowing that he was worried about what had happened earlier.

Eric's face lit up as she spoke, glad she still wanted to go to his house. He really wanted more alone time with her, even if they weren't doing anything... intimate. Plus, he didn't know if he was ready to meet this Josh guy quite yet. "Okay," he said with a smile, "Just wanted to make sure."
He ate in silence for a while longer, unsure of what to say to her. Every so often, he'd look up and smile, then go back to his food. After doing this a few times, he grinned sheepishly, "So I'll admit... I'm not the best conversationalist..."

Lilia smiled. "I noticed," she joked. "But that's okay. I'm just happy to be with you," she replied, eating another bite of her food. She watched him for a moment. "You do know that you don't have to say something mind-blowing, right?" she asked. She was finding that it was kind of fun to pick on him every once in a while.

Eric laughed with her, kicking her foot a little under the table. "Hey, you know you love me," he teased. "And I know, I just don't want to sound like an idiot..." he let his voice trail off, knowing he'd already sounded like one in front of her several times now. And yet, she still seemed to like him. "Well, lets try this, then," he said, finally, "What's the craziest thing you've ever done?"
