"That is true," Lilia replied, smiling at him. She raised an eyebrow at his question. "I hope you're sure you want to know that. Because I've done some pretty strange things," she replied. She gave him a moment before continuing. "One time, when I was like ten, Josh and I went snipe hunting with a bunch of his friends. We were the only ones who knew what it really was, so we followed the others around with an air horn and a bunch of other crap trying to scare them."

Eric nearly choked on his food. That was not what he'd been expecting her to say. Recovering, he stared at her, amazed, "I wouldn't have taken you for a practical joker," he admitted, trying to picture what she had told him. "Did it work?" he asked, curiously, "I mean, were they scared?"

"I'm not. It was all Josh's idea. He just couldn't do it alone," Lilia replied. She smiled. "It worked, until they realized that the two of us had gone missing. Then someone put two and two together and figured out that it was really just us. But it took them a long time, and one guy was in tears."

Eric laughed again. "In tears? You big meanie!" He chuckled, shaking his head. "I can just picture you, you know. Lilia Moore: School Bully," he joked. "You really are amazing, you know that?" he asked, taking a sip of his milkshake. "Josh get you into trouble a lot as kids?" Eric suddenly found himself intrigued by this guy.

"I was not a bully! It was just the one time. And that is the whole point of a snipe hunt, thank you very much," she replied, crossing her arms and leaning back in her chair like she was mad. She couldn't keep it up for very long; she cracked a smile after just a moment.
"Josh wasn't usually a bad influence. Just every once in a while he'd get some brilliant idea and talk me into doing something really stupid," Lilia said. "I'm surprised you would care. I figured you wouldn't want to talk about Josh at all."

"Uh huh," he said, leaning forward to tap her on the nose, "The quiet ones always deny it." He grinned at her as she tried to pretend to be mad at him. "You couldn't stay mad at me if you tried," he teased with a wink.
Eric tensed a bit as Lilia continued. "I was just curious," he said, defensively. He was sure she hadn't meant anything by her comment, but he couldn't help but bristle whenever one of those people was mentioned.

Lilia sighed. "You're right. You're just too cute is all," she said. She leaned closer to him, kissing his cheek quickly. "Plus, the fact that you're a good kisser definitely gives you brownie points.
Lilia raised an eyebrow at Eric's reaction. "Okay. I just figured you wouldn't care."

"What can I say? I'm good!" Eric said seriously, before bursting into laughter once again. "God, Lil, I love spending time with you," he blurted, unsure of where that had come from. But it was the truth.
"I'm trying, Lilia, okay? I really am," he began with a sigh, "Baby steps, right?"
The waitress arrived with dessert menus, but Eric barely noticed. He really wanted to change the subject - fighting about queers was not something he wanted to be doing on their first date. Belatedly noticing the dessert menu, he asked "You wanna split a Brownie Explosion? It's amazing, but it's made for two people," he grinned crookedly, "I've never had anyone to share one with before." God, he hoped he didn't sound too lame.

Lilia smiled. "I'm glad, because I love spending time with you, too," she replied.
"That's all I'm asking. That's all you can do," she said, reaching out and taking his hand. She glanced down as the waitress brought a dessert menu, but she didn't pay attention to it.
"Brownie explosion?" she asked, glancing down at the menu in front of her. "That actually sounds really good."

Eric chose not to reply to Lilia's comment. He simply squeezed her hand as she reached out to him, smiling faintly. His mood picked up as she asked about the dessert - something that could always improve his mood. "It's huge!" he began, "In an oversize champagne glass... layered brownies around the bottom, chocolate ice cream on top, whipped cream, chocolate syrup..." he grinned, deciding that even if she didn't want to share, he was going to try tackling it on his own. ((Moving day... ack... don't know how much I'll be on the next couple days, or how good my posts will be ))

"That sounds awesome. It sounds sort of like something I've had before," Lilia replied. "Besides, its chocolate. That's all you had to tell me." She smiled back at him. "I'll let you in on a little secret. If you want someone in my family to like you, all you have to do is buy them chocolate. My cousin Annie's husband bought my mom and aunts chocolate before he married Annie, and they all love him."
((That's fine... just post when you can))

Eric pretended to ponder her statement, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Chocolate, eh? You mean I didn't have to go running with you? Or take you on a date? If I'd only known." He sighed dramatically, looking heavenward, before breaking into a grin. "Good to know the family secret," he told her, "But I think I prefer the way we're doing it."
As the waitress came by to clear their plates, Eric ordered a Brownie Eruption, then turned his attention back to Lilia. "But I suppose, now I know how to get back on your mother's good side if she ever catches us home alone," he added with a wink.

Lilia laughed at Eric's joke. "I would hope that you wouldn't try to make it that easy," she replied. "Besides, I like it better this way. Because I actually get to know you. I only told you in case you ever have to find a way to win over my family."
"Eric, if my mother ever catches us alone at my house, you won't be allowed within 200 yards of me, no matter how much chocolate you bring my mother. She's a little overprotective," Lilia replied.

"It's the best way to do it," Eric replied, smiling. He truly was enjoying hearing about Lilia, wanted to know as much as he could. It surprised him that he'd never felt this way with any other girl, but he was happy that the girl he'd finally found this with was Lilia. He couldn't ask for anything more. "I want to know more," he said, reching for her hand again, "You have any weird phobias? You know, like balloons or something? Everybody's got one," he grinned, waiting for her answer.
"200 yards..." Eric tried to imagine being told he couldn't be near his girlfriend, but it didn't work. "Well, then, I guess we'll just have to have our alone time at my place. Either that, or I can say I was there to see Josh," he chuckled, "Get him into trouble instead of you. She'd probably go easier on him, since he's a guy and not her kid."

"Agreed." She raised an eyebrow at his quesion. "Weird phobia? That's the kind of thing you want to know about me?" she asked, smirking. "Fine. I'm terrified of clowns. I saw that Steven King movie when I was, like, four, and I've officially been scarred for life." She smiled at him evilly. "What about you? You know mine."
"Provided Grant doesn't get in the way, of course," Lilia reminded him. She couldn't help but laugh at the idea of Eric coming to see Josh. "I don't think she would buy that one, Eric. Besides the fact that I doubt Josh would be willing to cover for me like that."
