Eric's smile faded a bit when Lilia mentioned her phobia. That one wasn't so weird - he'd heard of a lot of people who got creeped out by clowns. He didn't get it himself, but the fact that her phobia was so, well, normal, made him not want to tell her his. "Clowns eh?" he asked, "So I probably shouldn't put one on your pillow while you're sleeping, I guess." He winked at her, grinning widely.
Eric smiled, "Little brothers can be easily bribed," he assured her. His brother certainly could, anyway. Buy him a bag of chips and he'd stay quiet on absolutely anything. "You're right... I probably wouldn't be very convincing, pretending to be his friend," his face twisted a little, "We'll just have to be discreet, I suppose."

"Yeah, clowns. And if you ever bring one anywhere near me I'll kill you. I wouldn't go anywhere near the shower drain for two weeks after I saw that movie," she replied, shuddering. She smiled at him. "I still want to know what you're afraid of."
"If you have something they want, that is," Lilia replied. "So your house is probably the better place to go, if your brother can be bribed to keep quiet. Because my mom is almost always home, and when she isn't there's no telling how long she'll be gone."

Eric put up his hands, "Okay, I promise. No clowns." He sighed when she asked him again about his fear. Looking down, feeling the blush creep onto his face, he muttered, "Whales." He was relieved when the waitress arrived with their dessert, hoping he wouldn't have to go into too much detail. He didn't even like talking about the things.
"My house it is, then," he agreed, "Grant won't be a problem, and Mom works so much..." he took a bite of the ice cream on top of the dessert, smiling.

Lilia raised an eyebrow. "Like, whales, whales?" she asked. "Because that's understandable... they're like ten times our size." She bit her lip and shook her head. "Sorry... shouldn't have started talking about that."
"Well then, I guess that'll work just fine," she replied, taking a bite out of the brownie. "This is really good."

Eric grimaced. "See? That's the thing. They could eat me in one bite!" He shuddered a little, imagining. "Yes... let's talk about something else... anything else..." he smiled at her crookedly. He took another bite of the dessert, then dipped his sthingy in once more, holding it out to Lilia.

Lilia smiled and took the bite of brownie Eric offered her, before offering her own sthingy to him. "Thank you," she said. "So, then, what do you want to talk about, now that the subject of phobias is off limits?" Lilia asked, smiling at him. She took another bite of brownie, before putting her sthingy down. The dessert was entirely too large, and she didn't want to make herself sick on it.

Eric took the bite she offered, grinning. He dropped his sthingy next to hers in the half-eaten dessert, glad he'd never tried to eat one of these things on his own. "Well, for now, if you're done, why don't we just head back to my house for the movie? I've got a TV in my room we can use. Grant knows my room's off limits, so it'll keep him out of my hair."

"That sounds good," Lilia replied. She smiled and leaned back, closing her eyes for a moment. "I hope I can stay awake for the whole movie. That was so good. I ate too much," she said, smiling.

Eric grinned at Lilia as he stood. "Me, too," he agreed, "Guess we won't be needing any popcorn for the movie." He held her hand, dropping a few bills on the table before heading out of the café.
