Caroline giggled glad that Joanne was playing along with her dorkiness. It seemed like most of the other girls that she was interested in thought that she was immature or too silly. Back then, it was so much of an issue that she tried to be more serious...and obviously that hadn't panned out. But Joanne seemed to be taking it in stride.
"Oh yeah," Caroline carefully took hold of the stuff. "It's only fair. You paid for it. It should be my duty to carry them around. Thankfully, not so heavy." She grinned.

Joanne laughed. "I only wanted you to hold them." She pointed out teasingly as she dripped butter over the popcorn. She had grabbed straws and napkins, the straws now sticking out of her skirt in the only pocket. "Do you like any of the seasoning on your popcorn?" Joanne asked shaking one of the containers to make her point.
"I wish I'd worn jeans." She admitted, pulling at the skirt. She smiled sheepishly at Caroline, holding out her hand. "Want me to take something back?"

"Oh well...I don't mind," Caroline shrugged with a giggle. "Very inventive..." She said watching Joanne use the pockets of her shirt. "You know I could take some more of that...maybe..." She tried to readjust the candy and drink into one hand and did so sucessfully. "Oh...I'm good with just butter. Unless you wanna go crazy. Garlic? On popcorn?" She asked after looking at the seasoning. "I like garlic as much as the next girl...but I'm not quite sure about that one."
Caroline shook her head. "You look really nice. I'm glad you wore it. Oh no...I've work hard and now I'm gonna keep them."

Joanne shook her head in amusement. "Just checking, wouldn't want a fit in the theater or anything because there was no," She picked up one of the containers. "Chili mac on the popcorn....ew that sound really gross."
"Well you worked so hard, you can carry it all the way into the theater if you want." Joanne told her with a laugh. When Caroline told her she looked good and she was glad she wore what she did she blushed.
"Ah thanks..skirt seems to have shrunk a bit." She told her with a grin.

"Oh I wouldn't have a fit. But I would probably be full suddenly...without much of a warning," Caroline explained with a giggle. "Ew. You're kidding me. Chilli mac as it is, is scary. But now...on popcorn? I'm all for flavors...but do they want you to put your tastebuds into a coma?" She asked with raised eyebrows.
"I throughly intend too," Caroline winked at her. "I'm all hard working like that. If only I could get that to transfer to my classes...we would be all good." She looked down at Joanne's skirt and just smiled. "Looks fine by me. Don't worry...you're aren't being scandelous or anything. And I think it's a good length."

"Your right, Chili mac is pretty frightening. I can't eat it. My uncle loves it. Makes it all the time, it just frightens me. I would rather have hot dog mac then chili mac." Joanne made a face, and resisted the urge to shudder.
"Ah, harding working for food, and I'm sure your grades are good." Joanne told her with a smile. When Caroline looked down at her skirt, Joanne had to fight the urge to cross her legs at the ankles and stand there awkwardly until it felt as if people were gawking at her.
"Well, shall we head into the theater or did you wanna kill a few more minutes out here?" She asked, bring the conversation back around.

Caroline nodded still feeling a little disgusted by it. "Oh...hot dogs. That might not be that bad. I prefer mushing my mac and cheese with applesauce. I think I might be the only person on the planet who does that...but it's really good. If you miss it enough. Very yummy," She said with a nod.
"Oh yeah, well I wish," Caroline rolled her eyes. "I have this bad habit of not applying myself. At least in math. The other ones I'm good in. It's kinda hard though...I wanna do art history. But we don't really have any of those classes at Scarsdale. So..." She shurgged. "I just gotta find a way to keep myself busy until college."
Caroline watched Joanne play with her skirt for the umptenth time. "Joanne..." She leaned over and kissed her cheek. "You look great. Don't worry about it."
"We can go inside if you like, get good seats," Caroline nodded. "And avoid people who are gonna spend the movie screaming." She winked at her.

"I've never tried that, but then again I usually only have apple sauce with my Pork Chops." Joanne told her. When Caroline told her she should apply herself more, and that she wanted to do Art History, Joanne smiled.
"Art History sounds neat." She told her. "Would you be doing clean up pieces or what would you do with it? Work in a museum maybe?" When Caroline kissed her cheek and told her she looked fine, Joanne grinned weakly.
"Sorry, I'm not use to the skirt yet..I usually wear pants, or skirts past the knee." She didn't tug at her skirt again. When Caroline said they should get good seats away from people who screamed she laughed.
"Well then, let's go, and I'll do my best not to scream." She laughed.

"Oh yeah, that's good too," Caroline nodded with a smile. "Applesause I pretty much good with everything in my opinion." She giggled to herself, glad that she could talk to Joanne about these things and not be seen as disgusting.
"Either..." Caroline admitted with an excited smile. "Actually...I think maybe I'd like to do the preserving eventually. But I think you have to be...like insane to get that job. Reliable and all. I don't know if I could do that. So...probably just local galleries and maybe one day...I could do that. Maybe." She shrugged. Caroline always lived one day at a time with a goal in mind. But she never went too far, as she never knew what curveballs life would throw her. She learned that a few years back when her mother got pregnant with Jonas.
"It's ok, Joanne. Really," She said as they headed towards the theatre. "Oh you're allowed to scream. No one else but you."

"I think you would do excellent in whatever you decided to do." Joanne told her honestly. "Sometimes people pick things that don't seem worth the hassle or time, or maybe they just aren't suited for it, but that seems like something you would be really good at." She smiled warmly. People usually looked at Joanne like she was nuts when she said she wanted to be a lawyer.
"Oh good, I'm glad I can be allowed." Joanne teased as they went insides the theater.

Caroline smiled gently. "Thanks, Joanne. It's nice to hear." When it came to encouraging, the few words she ever go were from Mr. Sung. And that was it. Caroline knew that Joanne didn't know her too well...but she wasn't going to refuse it. "I hope so. I really want to...to be good at it and all."
Caroline giggled. "I don't allow everyone to scream so you should feel special..." She paused looking around. "Where do you wanna sit?"

"You will be." She assured her warmly. "I'm sure I'll be reading all about you in the paper." She laughed. She grinned before shuffling the popcorn in her arm to her free one. She blinked owlishly to get use to the dimness of the theater, looking around at the seats.
"It doesn't really matter to me." She told her honestly. "Wherever you would like to sit is fine by me."

Caroline smiled deeply. "I don't know about the paper. But one mention in the local newspaper...I guess I really wouldn't refuse it. I'm more into the little fame though. I really doubt that art dealing is really the mainstream anyway. I'm sure I'll read plenty about you. Lawyer to those who need saving," She said. The thought made her excited. She could imagine herself in the furture circling Joanne's name in the paper with highlighter.
"Oh ok...well how bout the middle?" Caroline asked looking around and pointing towards the middle of the theatre. "That ok?"

Joanne shrugged. "A friend of my mother's has a son who does art restoration and he pops up in their paper sometimes and she sends the clippings to her." She hid a grin when Caroline said she could see her name in the papers. "Ah, I don't even know what kind of law I want to do yet..so who knows."
When Caroline pointed to the middle of the theater and asked if it was ok, Joanne nodded pleasantly. "Lead the way."

"Oh really?" Caroline asked with an exicted smile. "Well, I can only hope." She crossed her fingers for a moment but then paused not wanting to drop the drink. "Really? Well...which one are you leaning towards? Or leaning away from?"
"Ok," Caroline picked a row in the theatre towards the middle/front. "This ok?" She asked standing in the area before actually going in.
