Penny crossed her legs as she sat down on the stage, glancing around with a slight smile. This was going to be so awesome. Being Yente was going to be insanely fun. At the moment, she was singing part of "Tradition" for the heck of it. She stood up, walking around with a slight bounce in her step.

Kyle tossed his bag next to a seat in the second row. "Thought I'd find you here," he greeted, laughing. He paused to listen to her sing for a moment. Her voice was beautiful, especially for someone her age.

Penny glanced down, smiling widely. "Kyle, hey" she greeted, sitting on the edge of the stage, swinging her legs back and forth. "And I guess you thought right. Congratulations; most people don't find me that predictable." She chuckled a bit. "So how're you?"

"I'm good. So...tradition, eh? Wouldn't peg you to like that one best. But I guess you aren't entirely predictable. The lightboard works fine, the sound system works fine. I pretty much won't have to come in until something breaks."

Penny chuckled. "Actually, I don't. It just happens to be the one that's most likely to get stuck in your head. It's a good one though." She nodded a bit. "I'm glad that someone around here knows how to work the system. If I even tried, chances are the place would explode."

"Eh, I figured it out. Took a little time, but hey. I did it, and that's what counts. So what are you doing today?" Kyle asked, interested. "You have a good voice."

Penny shrugged. "Well, rehearsal's supposed to start up again soon, so I'm just hanging around here until it does. And I'm also marveling at the fact that I actually got a part." She chuckled a bit, placing a bit of her hair behind her ear. For once it was out of it's signature ponytail. While it looked nice, it kind of got in the way sometimes. She blinked, pleasantly surprised by Kyle's comment. "Thank you. Nice to know I'm good at something I like to do."

Kyle shrugged as well. "Why wouldn't you be? I mean, good at something you do. Not marveling. I don't know why you would be marveling. They just let me do the sound and lights because I'm one of the few students who knows how NOT to break the equipment."

Penny smiled weakly. "Yeah, but freshmen rarely get good roles" she pointed out, smoothing out her skirt a bit as she jumped down from the stage to his level. At least as much as she could. He had about five inches on her. She giggled a bit at his latter comment. "Well, that's a good thing, don't you think? Something to be proud of anyways."

Kyle looked down at her as she landed on the floor. "Wearing a skirt again today? I thought you hated them. And I guess...eh, it just proves I have close to no social life."

"I do. But I have to take this whole rebel phase in baby steps. Can't let them see me out of a skirt just yet" Penny explained, sitting down. "I'll have to be sneaky for a while." She smirked lightly. "And I owe it to you that I even think to be sneaky, so thanks."

"When you word it like that it doesn't sound so good. Really. But if that's what you want, then good for you. I mean with the baby steps." Kyle laughed weakly.

Penny rolled her eyes, chuckling a bit. "Seriously, you did a good thing. I feel like I can be myself more often" she assured him, smiling up at him. "Anyway, my point exactly. I do not want to get grounded or the whole "we're so disappointed in you" speech. Sooner or later, I probably won't care, but for now, I do."

"Well, it's good that you feel that way." Kyle nodded slowly. "Yeah, that would suck. That would suck pretty bad." He pushed down the nearest seat to sit in it.

Penny nodded. "Especially at my house. I've got to say, I'm so glad that you haven't met them. I don't really want to know what would happen if I stuck you and my parents in the same room alone for five minutes." She shuddered at the very thought.
((Oooh, but that wound up happening. Well...he was with Dwayne and Mimi, but that didn't make things any better.))
