Josh walked into the room and sighed. He was the first person to get there, and there wasn't anything for him to do. He pulled out his script and began going over lines as he hummed his song. It was a good song. He just hoped that his acting would be good enough to play a guy who was madly in love with a girl whose father didn't want him to marry her.

Stevie bustled into the room like a small hurricane, throwing off her light jacket, grabbing her script She ran up the stairs two at a time, hurrying to meet the person who already stood on the stage. She grinned when she recognized who was standing there.
"Well, this is a bit awkward isn't it." She teased lightly. Luckily, Stevie had met Josh once before and he had seemed like a really nice boy. Hopefully he could at least pretend to like her. She grinned widely.
((Ok, I cant post again until Sunday evening, but I wanted to at least post quickly))

Josh turned around when he heard someone coming up behind him. "Wasn't expecting to see you here," he said, smiling at Stevie. "Awkward? Nah. Although if we have to kiss, it very well could become awkward," he replied. He sat down on the edge of the stage and pulled out his script. "So, we're practicing this song, right?"

"I think their's hugging and dancing, and if there's any kissing, well maybe they'll let us substitute it with a handshake." She joked with a wink. She settled down on the steps, her back against the corner, so she could see him.
"So how have things been? You get yourself a job yet? If not, we just had a guy quit at Smitty's if your still interested." When he asked about the song they were practicing, she grinned.
"Well you are, I just have to let you drag me around." She said with a laugh.

"Hugging and dancing, huh? That I think we can manage without any problems. Although kissing wouldn't be quite as awkward with you as it might be with someone else. At least with you I wouldn't have to explain myself," he replied, smiling.
"Things are pretty good. Still no job, but I'm looking. And if there's an opening, I'm definitely still interested."
Josh sighed. "Well that's just great... you get to see me make a fool of myself before anyone else. Speaking of which, where's our director? I don't want to be here all night. I'm cooking tonight, horror of horrors." He smirked to show that he was joking.

"Better to try and pretend on a friend than someone you don't know I'd imagine." Stevie replied with a shrug. "I'm sure we'll figure something out to make it ok, I'll admit I'm glad I'm paired with you and not someone I don't really now. I can at least make it look friendly." She laughed.
"I'm glad things are going ok for you. Yeah, we had this kid named Mike, just up and walked out! Said he couldn't do this job anymore! They called me in on my one day off, cause of that. I was pretty pissed. I'll put in a good word for you and have Mr. Smitty call you first."

"Yeah, much better. I could just imagine what I might have been paired with otherwise. I might have had to kiss Catherine... that's just scary right there," Josh joked. He smiled at Stevie. He couldn't help but pray and thank God that she had gotten the part instead of someone else.
"Just walked out? That's pretty lame," Josh replied. "I'd really appreciate it if you would. I need to start helping out. I feel kind of bad making my aunt pay for me."

"Oh man, you've had a run in with Cathrine?" Stevie groaned. "I'm sorry, she's not a very helpful girl now is she." She shook her head, unable to think about if she had been casted in her role instead. "You'd have to pretend to like her." She said with a frown. "I've had a few run ins with her." She shook her head. They had almost gotten along once.
"Yeah it was lame. Very lame. Defiantly, I could really use someone who I won't need to hold their hand every step of the way. You'd be trained by me most likely, and it's not rocket science, but the way some kids go on about it, you'd think it was biometrics or something." She laughed.

"Unfortunately, yes. Just now managed to get away from her, actually," Josh replied. "She's worse than Lilia said. Way worse. I've never met someone who was that lost in their own little fantasy world before." He shuddered at the thought of possibly having to pretend to like that girl. "Wouldn't work... I sort of already told her that I like guys. She would have freaked out about having to be close to me."
"Don't worry... you won't have to hold my hand. I think I can figure it out well enough with just a little bit of help," he replied, smiling at her. "Rocket science, huh? Don't think I could do that... scooping ice cream, on the other hand, I can do."

Stevie shook her head with a slight grimace "Ah, I'm sorry you had to deal with her. She freaked out on you?" She frowned. "She doesn't even know I'm bi, she just freaked I didn't know who she was. Not my fault I don't do the whole labels thing. Well I hope your encounter was better than mine...I dragged her over the counter at Smitty's and roughed her up a little...she made me loose my temper, not an easy feat." She shook her head again.
"Good, my hands get all sweaty." She teased. "It's not hard, and you can get some lovely arms doing so." When he mentioned rocket science she laughed. "Even the idea of Rocket Science makes me wanna curl up into a little ball until it goes away." She laughed.

"Freaked out is a nice way of putting it," Josh replied, smiling. "I could see her freaking out about something like that. She seems to freak out over a lot of things, from what I can tell. She didn't get the part she wanted, and apparently that's a good excuse, too. Anyone who can deal with that girl and not lose their temper deserves to be canonized."
"Muscles, huh? That's gotta be a pretty nice perk of the job," Josh replied, smirking. "Yeah, that does sound pretty intimidating, huh?"

Stevie rolled her eyes. "I gave up on the whole popular idea a long time ago personally. I think people put to much meaning into a single word and it's not worth anything in the long run. You can popular in High school, but when you hit college, that world is gone, and usually they can't hack it. That's why she freaked. She thinks she's popular and I had no idea who she was. Never mind I'm two years older than her."
"Comes in handy for Volleyball, I'll tell you that much." Stevie said with a laugh. When he said rocket science sounded intimidating she nodded.
"Oh yeah."

"Popular? I dunno what that word means. It never made it into my vocabulary," Josh joked. "People just want to fool themselves into thinking they mean something to this world without doing anything to justify that belief. Its sad, but the truth. And she won't make it in college unless she has a major attitude adjustment between now and then. I'm not even sure she'll make it all the way through high school."
"I bet it would be great for football, too. If I was still playing, anyway," Josh replied, smiling.

"I think your totally right." Stevie agreed. "My brother was very popular in school. Then he came out and BAM no one wanted to be associated with him anymore. I got to high school, and it was like a stigma. I just kinda went with it. I was leary about joining any teams though, but that worked out. You just accept who likes you for who you are, and disregard the rest." She shrugged.
"If your gonna play basketball I bet strong arms would be helpful." She noted with a shrug. "Not so helpful in track, but in other sports, baseball I would imagine."
