"I know it is." Stevie said shaking her head. "I'm surprised the kids didn't make a bigger fuss about it. I'd have been raising bloody hell." She shook her head again. "Some people are jut born dumb, and they aren't ever gonna change. It's a sad fact of life." She pulled her hair back slightly, attempting to get it off her neck.
"Yeah laps can be not fun." Stevie agreed. "I'm not sure who's suppose to be directing us, but yeah" she checked her watch "They are late."

Mrs. Dixon walked into the room and tried not to swear as the door caught her bag. She waved to the two students and then ripped her bag from the door. "I'm sorry I'm so late. I'm one of the only teachers doing double duty on the direction of this play. And I was informed late about it." She dropped her bag to the floor and threw her hair into a quick bun. "And you must be Stevie and Josh? Am I correct?" She asked as neither of the students were in her classes this semester.

Josh started to reply to Stevie's comment, but was stopped by the entrance of their director. He smiled at the woman, who was obviously a bit frazzled. Then again, he would be too, if put in her position. "Not a problem, Mrs. Dixon," Josh replied. He looked down at his script again, trying to make sure he knew the words as well as he could.

Stevie's attention was drawn from Josh to the teacher trying to get through the door with her purse intact. "Yes Ma'am." Stevie said with a warm smile. She briefly wondered how long rehearsal's were going to last, and if it was only going to be the two of them for each time. She flipped to the appropriate part of her script, and waited for further instruction.

Mrs. Dixon pulled over a chair and nodded to the two students. "Okay, before we get started, I have a packet of information for you. Emergency protocal, the dates and times of further rehearsals. The day of the performance etc." She pulled out two packets from her bag and then passed it to them. "Look it over when you get home tonight and just sign on the last page, bring that page back to me. It pretty much says that I've read the packet and I'm going to come to the rehearsals."
She sighed and then clapped her hands. "Okay. Have you two looked over the script at all? Or are we starting from scratch?"

Josh took the packet of papers from Mrs. Dixon and flipped through it quickly. It wasn't anything too crazy from what he could tell, so he dropped it down into his backpack without another thought. Then he picked up his script and glanced over the words one more time.
"I've been looking at it. I don't know it that well, though," Josh replied.

Stevie glanced at the packet and didn't see anything to out of the ordinary. She quickly put it down on top of her jacket and made sure her keys didn't fall through the seat cushions. She straightened back up and nodded.
"Yes Ma'am. I've gone over it some." She agreed with Josh. She had looked over it, but had committed very little to memory just yet.

"That's good," Mrs. Dixon said pulling out her own script. "At least we know what page we need to be on. All right then. So we're doing the song 'Miracles' which is more your song Josh than Stevies. But of course he's singing about you so you are an important elemant. Could you guys give me a background on the song perhaps, tell me what you think your characters should be feeling during this song?" She asked finally getting into the stuff that she enjoyed.

Josh thought for a moment before speaking up. "Well, Model is happy. Really, really happy, because he's just been given permission to marry the person he loves," Josh replied. "I know if I were in his position, I'd be bouncing off the walls." He turned to Stevie to see what she thought about her character's feelings.

"I agree." Stevie said with a smile. Josh had really nailed it on the head she thought. "I think they are both happy, they have gotten what they always wanted. They wanted to be together. I know Tzeitel didn't want to be married to the 60 year old butcher." She chewed on her lower lip thinking if there was anything else she should add to that.
"And um, that's all I got." She said.
