Lilly lugged her oversized boombox and dance bag onto the stage, trying not to trip over the stereo cord. Her mind was on other things, and it would be all too easy to go flying over something and break her ankle. She took off her jeans, revealing a tight black pair of leggings. She shivered, given the fact that they turned off the heating after school and the pants she was now wearing were not the warmest that she could be.
As much as she liked dancing, she wanted someone to come in and keep her company. Solos made for boring practices.

April hummed a bit of "Sunrise, Sunset" as she walked past the doors toward the auditorium. She caught a glimpse inside to see none other than Lilly. Having not spoken to her since she called her at Smitty's, she figured that now would be a good time. A wide smile on her face, she opened the door and walked toward the stage. Not wanting to interrupt, she simply stood near the stage.

Lilly moved over to the stereo and hit the pause button. "Oh, hey April. I'm glad you came in; I was getting bored. So...what's up?" She turned the CD back on, but turned the volume down.

April smiled toward her friend and shrugged. "Ah nothing. Cathrine's bitching over me getting 'her role'," she used air quotes on this statement. "Roger and Tommy are finally talking about Tommy and Angel, so that's good...and I just wanted to see how you were doing. Haven't talked to you since Smitty's." She leaned against the stage. "And ever since, I was a tad worried to be quite honest."

Lilly sat on the stage and stretched as she listened to April. "Worried? How so? I mean, like, I get why, but elaborate." She was interested to hear what she had to say.

"Well...I'm just hoping that you didn't do something stupid. I doubt Dwayne would let you, but hey, emotion can screw you up at times." She rested her elbows on the stage and rested her chin on her hands. "Or you might have pushed him away, which could actually be even worse."

Lilly swallowed at April's mention of doing something stupid, and she switched legs she was stretching with. "Um, well...we haven't done anything stupid yet. But we've come close. And for some reason, I'm not worried about it. I don't get it. Usually I'd be like 'back off, boy'...I don't know. As bad as this sounds, I wouldn't really mind if we did..." She trailed off, feeling very nervous.

April raised an eyebrow. "Wow. Lilly..." She actually wasn't entirely sure how the hell she was supposed to respond to that. "What, he tried or...?" That didn't sound at all like Dwayne. Then again, Lilly not minding didn't sound at all like her. What the hell was going on?!

"No, he hasn't tried. Not yet, anyway. But, like I said- we've had to catch ourselves a few times." Lilly stood, pulling her leg behind her to stretch out her calves. "I don't know what it is, April, I honestly don't."

April sighed of relief. "Oh good, because otherwise I'd have to ask Caroline to knock some sense into that boy." She shook her head a bit. She nodded understandingly at her response. "Well...how do you feel? I mean, about the situation, about him...every part of it."

"Oddly comfortable about the whole thing. At least for me. Usually I'd be spazzing, but...I'm not. And I can't tell how I feel about him. I don't have any experience to base it on...but I feel really good about it. About him. Real good." Lilly blushed slightly as she thought about him. She leaned from side to side, stretching her arms.

April was obviously quite surprised. She let out a low whistle. "Okay then...this isn't just Dwayne's charm, no way. It's never worked this well on a girl before, particularly someone like you. I mean, he has quite an effect on people, but this is definitely new." She shook her head a bit.

Lilly laughed aloud at this. "No way, April, come on. You're kidding with me. I mean...I'm not a total slave to my emotions..." Or am I? She walked over to the stereo and turned the music up a little bit so she could start going over her routine.
