"I manage to rake in a 3.5 average, but that's not necessarily good enough for a scholarship, ya know?" She began, happily feeling the wind hit her neck now. When Josh said he didn't see how girls didn't burn up with their hair, she laughed.
"Don't worry, I like you already. I'd tell you if it was turning into a geeky white boy fro." She giggled.
"Yeah, my hair is not only long, but thick. I just look odd with short hair. Does that make sense?" She asked. "One summer I had hacked it off to the tops of my shoulders, and it just looked goofy." she shook her head. "Not sure how exactly to explain it."

"I don't remember what mine is off the top of my head. I'm used to hearing it done on a different scale," he replied. "I just hope that whatever it is, its enough."
Josh smiled. "Well thanks for that. Good to know I've made a friend other than my cousin already," he replied.
"Yeah, I get it. Why would anyone want a haircut that made them feel like they look stupid?"

Lilia walked out of the school, glad that her day was finally over. At least now she would get to spend time with Eric, watching a great movie. She started walking through the courtyard, towards the parking lot where she was supposed to meet Eric. A very familiar blond head caught her attention, sitting next to a redhead she'd seen around campus. Taking a closer look, Lilia realized that it was who she thought. She smiled and hurried over.
"Josh?" she asked, smiling. "What on Earth are you doing here? You're supposed to be at school in Virginia."

Josh turned his head and smiled at the sound of his cousin's voice. "Waiting on you," he said. He stood up and pulled Lilia into a hug. "Dad kicked me out a couple of days ago. Your mom said it would be okay if I stayed here for a while," he said, responding to her question. He sat back down next to Stevie. "Why don't you sit down for a while. Do you know Stevie?" he asked.

"I'm sure it's good enough." Stevie said with a nod. "If you get good grades, it should be fine." When a girl came up, Stevie figured this was the cousin and remained quite not wanting to intrude on their moment. She glanced when Josh stood and then sat back down. When her name came into play she gave the girl a smile.
"Hi." She greeted warmly.

"It's nice to meet you," Lilia said, smiling at Stevie. "Thanks for keeping him company while he waited. Hope it wasn't too boring for you," she said, jokingly making fun of Josh. She smirked at him as she sat down on his other side. Lilia messed with Josh's hair for a moment. "You need a haircut."

Josh shot Lilia a look as she messed with his hair before fixing it back. "Thanks," he replied sarcastically. He turned and looked at Stevie. "I told you I needed a haircut. Even if it doesn't look like a white boy fro yet," he said, smiling.
"So, Lils, did you have any plans for this afternoon? Or am I going to be left to my own devices?"

Stevie grinned. "I never said you didn't." She told him sweetly. "I only said I'd tell you if it was becoming a white boy fro." She said with a laugh. Deciding maybe she should take her leave, she glanced between the two. She didn't want to make herself a nuisance.
"Ah, well thanks for helping me pick up my books." She said with a smile. "I sure don't want to keep you from your cousin though." She said hastily trying to gather her books.

"Actually, I'm watching a movie with a friend tonight," Lilia said. "In fact, I'm meeting him pretty soon. If I'd known you were moving in with us I wouldn't have planned anything." She smiled at Stevie. "Maybe you could hang out with Stevie some? Since the two of you seem to have hit it off."
Lilia gave Josh a quick hug before standing back up. "I really need to go find Eric. We'll talk tonight, okay?"

Josh just nodded. He should have known that Lilia would have plans. Although he guessed that her "friend" was more than just a friend. Especially when she said that she was meeting a guy pretty soon. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do, Lils," Josh said, smiling at her. Then he turned to Stevie. "Guess I haven't got anything to do this afternoon after all," he said.
"Maybe you could show me where Smitty's is? So I can go ahead and fill out that application," he said.

"Have fun!" Stevie called pleasantly after the girl. Watching movies with friends could be one of the best things you could do. When Josh asked her to show him where Smitty's was she nodded.
"Sure, I can do that. Do you need a ride? I have my car and could take you, but I'd need to stop home real quick to drop these books off. If you don't mind going with me, I can take ya to Smitty's." She said with a smile. She liked Josh. She could see him becoming a really close friend.

"You think you'll look into getting one or not so much?" Stevie asked making conversation. She continued to pick up her books, getting them the best she could in her arms. When he said his aunt lived a couple blocks over she nodded. "That must be nice, our apartment is on the outskirts of the school zone." She shook her head. "I worked hard to get this car though, wasn't sure how much longer I could stand the bus." She glanced at him.
"Ready?" She asked

"I want to, but I can't. I'm technically not allowed behind the wheel of a car. Ever," Josh said, smiling. "You have a couple of seizures and they brand you for life," he joked. He'd learned a long time ago not to take things too seriously.
"You must have worked hard for this. If I had been able to drive, I wouldn't have even gotten something this nice. Busses do suck royally. Which is part of the reason I'm glad that my aunt lives within walking distance."

"That's rough." Stevie said sympathetically, but didn't dwell on it. "Well I'd be more than happy to give you a ride if you ever need one." She nodded towards her car. "That ones mine. Not the newest model mind you, but lord I worked hard. Two years of intense overtime, and saving every penny. It was a steal. I thought something was wrong with it. Maybe it was haunted." She laughed before walking to her car.
"Off to, well my place." She called, heading off.
