Angel had gotten out of bed late and missed nearly the first ten minutes. Thinking about everything the night before, he'd had trouble getting to sleep. Of course he'd been asked where his project was, why he needed so long to do it, what Tommy was like and why Angel had never mentioned him. He told some lies and got out of there as soon as possible. And then putting Anna's things back where they belonged, that was a challenge. On the bright side though, it did kind of make him feel like a Bond girl. A Bond girl. As good as it felt, Angel just didn't know how he could pull it off a second time. The lies, too. The drag was worth it...but he was gonna get caught, it was almost inevitable. Unless he got his own things, kept them away from home, only did it when nobody was around...except maybe somebody he could trust. But it was such a huge hassle and chances were, few people would be at his beck and call to guard the door. Not even Tommy. The drag was liberating, it felt right, but it was the riskiest thing he'd ever done. Angel couldn't sleep with all this on his mind, which explained why he walked in way after the bell, handing a note to Miss Dale and quietly taking his seat. ((Sorry this is late, I'm kind of slow and forgot ))

Today April was actually concentrating. Then again, it wasn't quite as nice as the weather usually was this time of year; that probably had something to do with it. Partly cloudy skies or equations? It was no contest.
Hearing the door open, April glanced up from the current equation and smiled sympathetically as a very frazzled Angel walked in as quietly as he could. She waved slightly before filling in the answer quickly, but sloppily. The teacher wouldn't care if one answer was close to illegible.

Lilly found it hard to concentrate this morning. Date night, date night, date night, her brain seemed to chant. Plus there was that whole thing with being sick. She didn't have the patience to hang out in the nurse's office for long, and she was already feeling like she needed some medicine.
Her head slipped and bumped the desk, seemingly waking her up. She took her homework out from underneath her and passed it to April on her left. That's the way they handed it in- 'Pass it to the left, kids!' Good thing she didn't have to get up from her seat.

Angel smiled at April and prepared to focus on math. He had a bad feeling about his grades at the moment. Math especially. It wasn't his strongest subject in the first place, but with everything else on his plate his grades were slipping even more. Tommy, the drag, even working on the play were all taking his time and attention, and his school work was getting the short end of the stick. He was determined for once though to pay attention. Maybe even do his homework. He picked up a sheet and passed on the pile, surveying the questions. Well...he'd do it. His answers probably wouldn't be right, but...

April raised her eyebrow. Lilly seemed sort of distracted at the moment. Wonder what's going on? she wondered as she took Lilly's homework and piled it on top of her own. Still narrowing her eyes inquisitively toward her, she passed it. Then she glanced toward Angel with a small frown. He seemed a bit more...nervous than usual. What's with everybody today? Usually when they're distracted, I'm distracted along with them...

Lilly yawned, feeling sicker by the moment. It didn't help much that she'd not done so well on the last test, the one that the teacher had placed on her desk minutes beforehand. Not a good start to what should have been a good day. She looked around- everybody seemed as off as she did.

Angel exhaled deeply and closed his eyes for a minute, trying to concentrate. Math was always the tough one when it came to focusing. Of course as soon as he'd told himself to concentrate, a doodle of a shoe appeared in the corner of his page. A ladies shoe. He'd scratched it out, and was now attempting one of the questions. He missed when math was easy...addition and subtraction. Long division tripped him up every time. Thank god he wasn't planning on a really technical job, then he'd be sunk. Still though, he needed the credit and summer school would really get him down.

April sensed that there was some tension in the room. Of course, being a Math class, that was natural. Still, it seemed even more so than usual. Raising an eyebrow, she removed her eyes from the formulas and onto her friends. Their facial expressions worried her. "Guys? Are you okay?" she muttered enough for them to hear, but not for it to be too conspicuous.

Angel sighed and shrugged one shoulder, writing in a few numbers in the answer section. He wasn't sure it was right or not. Probably not... "Well...I don't know. I like having a life now and all...something outside of school. But now I think I might be failing math, which isn't so good," he admitted. When Miss Dale gave him the eye, he dropped his head again and went onto the next question.

Lilly's head didn't move much on the cool surface of her desk. "I am...Ill," she managed, a low groan escaping her as she admitted it. She didn't want to have to. She had things to do! No point in being sick when there were things to be done. "But I'm not going home, and I am not missing my date. Not even if my temperature is a hundred and friggin-" But Lilly shut up quickly as she was the next to receive the 'eye' and sat up. Her eyes were groggy and tired.

April raised an eyebrow. Who knew that they were having such lousy times. Math had a way of sucking the fun out of things, but still...She bit her lip. What could she possibly say to cheer her friends up without getting "the eye". Miss Dale, while she was a nice teacher, could be extremely scary when provoked.

At this point, Angel was skipping over more questions than he was filling in. Some of them he kind of got. But he didn't feel like asking Miss Dale. She'd know that he hadn't been paying attention for a really long time, and he really didn't need to be lectured. At least gym was next. Something to look forward to as the minutes ticked away slowly. Plus he needed to talk to Mimi...he needed to tell her what was going on.

Luckily, Lilly knew enough about the subject to finish the classwork. Really, she was just going as quickly as she could through it. She didn't check any of the answers. "Stupid, stupid, stupid," she groaned, whacking her head on the desk each time she opened her mouth. "Stupid fever, stupid, stupid, stupid..."

April was thoroughly glad that she was done with her questions around the same time as Lilly. At least then she could quietly offer whatever she could without getting "the look". She was sure Miss Dale had some sort of mutation that she literally had eyes on the back of her head. She turned toward Lilly, who was consistently saying the word 'stupid' and sighed. "Lill, I don't think this is helping."

Angel concentrated as best as he could. The clock was ticking in his head, counting down the minutes. There was still about fourty five minutes left.
The woman on the PA system asked for Miss Dale, and the teacher stood up. "I'll be back in a few minutes...remember the class rules while I'm gone!" The class rules nobody ever followed.
Sure enough as soon as Dale disappeared, the classroom erupted with noise. But not Angel. No. Angel was a good student. He was concentrated. He did not fall as prey to bad influences.
"Forget that," Angel mumbled as he turned the sheet over and started drawing on it.
