Lilia smiled slightly at Eric as he put an arm around her. He didn't sound totally convinced, but she was glad that he was at least trying to be supportive. It was an improvement from earlier that afternoon, at least.
"Not yet," she replied. "I haven't even told my mom yet... we just found out."

"I see," she said softly, lost in thought. "Well... please let me know when you do... I... want to know how everything goes." With that, Laura left the room and walked slowly to her bedroom, closing the door behind her and locking it with a definitive click.
Eric sighed, squeezing Lilia's shoulder. "Wow..." he mumbled, "That was... different."

Lilia just nodded and watched as Eric's mother walked out of the room. She breathed a sigh of relief. "At least she didn't get too upset. I mean, not more than expected," Lilia replied. She closed her eyes for a moment. "We have to tell my mother at some point, you know. I doubt she'll take it as well as your mother did."

"You can be sure I'm going to hear more from her later, when you're not around," he told her, frowning, then turned to face her, hands resting lightly on her waist. "Do you want to go right away?" he asked, knowing that the longer they waited, the harder it would be to actually do it.

Lilia closed her eyes. She knew that she had to get this over with, but she really didn't want to have to tell her mother at all. "Dylan has karate this afternoon. No one's home right now but Josh," Lilia replied, sighing. She didn't think that going over to her house with Eric when only Josh was home was a wise idea. She knew how Eric felt about Josh already, even though Josh probably didn't know yet.

Eric frowned. He didn't really want to see Josh, especially not right now. He wished her mother was home, so they could just get this over with. He was nervous about how her mother would react, but he would make sure nothing happened to her. "When will she be home?"

Lilia sighed, watching as the wheels turned in Eric's head. She knew that he wouldn't want to be in the house with Josh around, and she didn't feel like fighting that today. Normally she would have tried to convince him to come over, that he had to get used to Josh's presence. But today, she just didn't have the energy to deal with it. "I don't know, honestly. Karate only takes an hour, but a lot of times they'll stop and do some other stuff on the way home," Lilia replied.

"Well," he said, speaking on a heavy breath, "If you... would feel more comfortable... we can go to your place and wait," he offered. Even though he knew Josh would be there, and wanted nothing to do with him, right now, Eric wanted what was best for Lilia. He didn't want her to be upset - as much as it was possible to not be upset in this situation - and if being in her own home would do that, he'd go along with her.

Lilia shook her head. "No, thanks, but I really don't think that's a good idea. My mom will already be mad at me for bringing you into the house before I even tell her if we wait over there. She doesn't like the idea of Josh being a chaperone for some reason. He's not allowed to bring guys over when she isn't home, either," she replied. She knew that the topic of conversation was not something Eric cared for, but she didn't really care.
