Brittani walked through the park, her camera hung over her neck. She smiled, looking at her suroundings. God, I love New York. Love it, love it, love it. she thought, laughing to herself. She walked over to a tree beside the sidewalk, laying under it and talking a few pictures. I should really do this more often. she thought, looking up slightly and seeing a woman giving her a strange look, Those reactions are priceless.
She laid under the tree for a bit longer, taking a few more shots. She then sat back up, running a hand through her already messy hair, Caroline likes me. Caroline likes her girlfriend...I need to stop thinking. She stood and continued her walk.

Dwayne was extremely relieved to be as far away from the school building as possible, particularly after rehearsal. Perky Cathrine was even worse than just regular, bitchy Cathrine. He took a deep breath of fresh air. At least the lighting around here was just right. He could probably get some good pictures taken.
While he was looking around the park for a possible subject, he almost crashed into someone standing up from underneath a tree. "Whoa! Oh, I'm sorry," he exclaimed as he turned around to see a girl with messy blonde hair. He smiled apologetically. "Are you going to need help up since I crashed into you?"

Brittani looked at the boy who had just run into her, then, having just remembered why she came to the park, immediately down at her camera. She let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Having ensured her camera's safety, she looked back up at him, "Ah, It's fine." she laughed, "No help necessary, but company is always appreciated, seeing as we seem to be out for similar reasons." she answered, glancing down at the camera he held. Brittani had always been quite the social butterfly.

Dwayne winced. Oh God, please tell me I didn't break her camera, he thought. He'd just feel horrible if he had done something like that. He had been using cameras since he was ten, so by now he was very attached to it. He didn't want to think about what would happen if it broke. Needless to say, he let out an equally relieved sigh when the girl seemed to indicate that it was fine.
Dwayne smiled a bit. "Yeah, you're right. That's about the main reason why I go to the park in the first place," he responded, leaning against the tree.

She noticed his sigh and smiled, Another camera-lover, I suppose. That, or he's just...nice like that. I'll go with option one.
"It's my first time comming through here - with my camera at least - and definately not the last." This park is gorgeous. she thought. She turned with him as he leaned against the tree; she hated not facing the person she was wlaking to.

Dwayne nodded, understanding why she'd be coming back. He'd passed through the park about a million times ever since he got his first camera. There was almost no possible way to not find some sort of photo subject. "Yeah, it's great around here, isn't it?" Guessing the reason for her movement, he turned slightly to face her.

"It's gorgeous. I didn't think I'd find a place like this is New York." she answered, snapping a picture of a bird as it landed on a bench near them.
"Oh, my name's Brittani, by the way." she said, lowering the camera away from her face. I forgot to introduce myself. Wake up, Brittani!...You don't have a chance with her. Get over it. she thought, not noticing she let her smile fade. She crossed her legs as she stood.

Dwayne nodded in agreement. The place was definitely nice. He raised an eyebrow at her comment and then remembered seeing her in the hallways. "Oh right, you're new around here, right?" he asked. When she introduced herself, the wheels in Dwayne's head began spinning. Brittani...I wonder if she's that girl that Caroline flirted with.... Not that it really mattered, but it'd be an interesting coincidence if that were the case. Noticing her smile fade, he frowned softly. "I'm Dwayne...and...erm, are you okay?"

"Yeah, just moved from Tennessee." she laughed, "Good to know the accent isn't strong."
She sighed, "I'm sorry. I went off in my own little world for a second...and, as of right now, whether I'm okay or not depends on someone else." she answered, "So...I'm not exactly sure. She hasn't gotten back to me. But I'm babbling, sorry."
She let her eyes drop, Great. I need to talk to Caroline. I should've called her. I'm such a wimp. she thought, slightly irritated with herself.

"Nope, it's not too obvious," Dwayne assured her. "Anyway, hope you're adjusting well enough."
His frown deepened as he settled himself back onto the grass next to her. "No, it's fine. You're more than allowed to get your feelings out." He was very tempted to test his theory by asking who Brittani was talking about. It wasn't the most polite thing he could do, he knew that. Still, it would technically be his business if he was right that this was the girl Caroline was talking about, since Caroline had sort of gotten him into this. Or at least that was his logic.
Noticing her frustrated expression, he tilted his head and finally asked, "Who is she?"

"Oh, good." she sighed, smiling, "I'm adjusting pretty well. I never thought of myself as a country girl." In fact, when her mother told her they were moving to New York - other than the fact she was leaving friends - she was ecstatic.
Brittani didn't see him asking as impolite at all; she was the one who started ranting. He had a right to at least know who she was ranting about, "...Her name's Caroline." she answered.

Dwayne smiled weakly. At least she was enjoying her time here. Moving couldn't possibly be easy, at least not for the ones who had no say in it. At least she wasn't completely hating the town.
He sighed. So he was right. At least she answered without being hostile. "I thought so...she mentioned a Brittani. I wondered if it was you," he said softly. He smiled apologetically toward her.

"Ah, so I take it you know her." she said, smiling faintly. So was talking about me...I hope it was good. she thought. Just that made Brittani feel a little bit better, and it reminded her of what Caroline had said. "So...can I like...put you on hold?" I have a chance. So I need to shut up about it. She uncrossed her legs and stood straighter. She'd be okay, for now.

Dwayne copied Brittani's smile. "She's my best friend in the world," he explained. He gave the girl a sideways glance and added, "It sounded generally good...what she told me about you." Now how was he going to mention (in a tactful way) that Caroline and Joanne were officially an item now? Did Brittani know? Then he wondered if it was really his place to say anything. This seemed like a wasp nest that he shouldn't have gotten himself into.

She laughed weakly, "Talk about your funny coincidences." she said. As he continued, her smile got just slightly wider, "Okay...as long as I don't sound like some relationship-killer." If her and...whats-her-name are even in a 'relationship'. Caroline sounded confused about where they stood. she thought, The selfish side of me is praying it doesn't work out...
