"Oh ok," Caroline said with a slight pout. Course she doesn't want an annoying pet name. Most people don't. How would you feel if people went around singing that Neil Diamond song all the time. Well they do... "Sorry. Just seemed cute."
Caroline nodded slowly. "At least you got that from her."

When caroline seemed to deflate slightly when she was asked not to call her Jojo Joanne offered her a sweet smile. She reached across the table, her hand patting the other girls hand gently. "If it's that important to you, go ahead." She told her. "It's not that big of a deal."

"Oh no it's not a big deal," Caroline said before even realizing that Joanne took her hand. She looked down at it and smiled. It felt nice. "Your hands are cold," She pointed out putting her other hand on top of Joanne's and rubbing it gently to warm them. Caroline was never one to...not to be...forward.

Joanne laughed. "My hands are always cold." She told her. "No matter what I do. When it gets cold, it's miserable, because even if I wear gloves, I can't warm them up, and it's very discomforting." She said with a smile.

"Oh well then let me help you..." Caroline took her hands and rubbed them harder. "Have you ever tried layering gloves? I gotta layer my socks cause my feet are always freezing. I wonder if that's related somehow..." She sat in thought and shrugged.
"So...what's your favorite color? I mean we might as well get to know each other a little more. And that seems to be the first question that one must know about someone else," Caroline explained as if she was a dating guru.

Joanne nodded. "Yeah, I've tired that before." She said. "Then I just couldn't bend my fingers she said with a laugh. When Caroline asked what her favorite color was she grinned. "I'm a bit of a purist. Black and White are my favorites." She said with a grin. "And my favorite animals is a fox, and I'm a Gemini." She laughed.

Caroline laughed and nodded. "I suppose that makes sense. I guess my feet don't really have to bend too much. But fingers...those are important." She nodded to herself and found herself enjoying the feel on Joanne's skin. And the fact that Joanne wasn't pulling away from her...or even seeming uncomfortable.
Caroline grinned deeply. "Well you got them all there didn't ya? Ok. Black and white. Old mainstays I can understand that. Foxes are adorable. And Gemini...sounds good to me. Um...I like the color orange. Sometimes that deep purple color. One of those. Favorite animal...zebra. And my sign is a Sagitterius. I think it is. End of November...I don't know why but I always forget."

Joanne found her hand being sufficiently warmed, but had no desire to pull away from the other girl. It was a nice change to have her hands actually warmed up, but then again, maybe she was blushing.
Joanne smiled at Caroline's answers. "Ah, well those are all wonderful." She said. "I happen to look frightful in Orange, but I bet it looks beautiful on you." She commented. "Zebra huh? Those are pretty neat. I like Giraffes too. I think those are beautiful."

Caroline shrugged. "I just like to look at orange. I don't know what colors look good on me verses bad on me. I just wear what I like you know?" She asked while slowly nodding to herself. "Oh yeah...giraffes. They're great. And the babies might be the cutest babies out there. Well actually, all baby animals are cute. Even baby alligators look cute. It must be a natural baby thing."
"Hmmm...warmer?" Caroline asked rubbing the girl's hands slowly.

"Yes, thanks." Joanne said with a warm smile, though she made no move to pull away from Caroline. Her hands were much warmer. Warmer than she could remember them being in fact.
"Yeah baby animals are all really cute. Some people in our neighborhood have a pond, and the ducks there just had babies, and their so cute and fluffy." She laughed. "They waddle around like they own the place, chasing after each other."

Caroline grinned and let out an "aw." "Baby duckies. I bet they are adorable. I think I'll try to convince my mom to get a pond, just so we can get some ducks. They're cute even when their old. The way they wiggle their tails and plopp into the water. I don't think my mom would mind..." After some thought she added, "Knowing her she'd probably think it was a pool." She rolled her eyes to herself and then frowned. Joanne didn't have to know about her life story already.
"Sorry...I talk a lot sometimes."

"I don't mind." Joanne replied with a smile when Caroline said she talked alot. "My cousin Rai, she's a total chatterbox, and you don't talk anywhere near as much as she does." She laughed at the idea of Caroline and Rai getting together, no one would ever get a word in edge wise.
"If you really want a pond, you can get a koi pond for fairly inexpensive. Once the fish get going in there, ducks come around too." She said with a laugh.

Caroline giggled and nodded. "If you have a chatterbox in the family then I guess you can handle me. But still, if you need me to shut up, feel free to tell me to do that," She said with a nod. "Just to let you know."
"Koi? Like I'm a coy girl who is fond of playing hard to get?" Caroline asked confused. then she listened to what the rest of Joanne was saying. "Oh..." She blushed a bit. "A koi is a high class fishy isn't it?"

"Nah, you don't talk to much." Joanne said with a warm smile. "I wouldn't ever tell you to shut up."
"Koi, is kind of a tranquility pond." Joanne said with a gentle smile. "Don't worry I had to have it explained to me twice before I understood what it was." She grinned. "You can find them at even Home Depot now." She told her. "The fish, are those ginormous gold fish." She explained. "At least, that is how it was explained to me."

"Oh really? I might have a field day then...but I'll try not to be too crazy from the norm. Don't wanna make any records or anything," Caroline said with a shrug. Not need to push a good thing over its limits.
"Tranquility pond huh? I never knew that ducks were into being tranquil. But I suppose that being a duck can be stressful at time," Caroline replied thinking about the idea even though she knew that's not what Joanne meant. "Big honker fish? Cool. I always liked goldfish...but do they last longer?"
