Joanne shrugged. "I'm thinking the ducks are more into the fish than the tranqulity." She said with a laugh. When Caroline asked if the fish lasted longer she shrugged. "Maybe. Your guess is as good as mine about that one. I don't actually have a koi pond. Mother thinks their to much hassle and father thinks the fish would draw animals in the yard. Like the fish themselves weren't animals."

Caroline giggled knowing that was probably true. "I would think so. But hey, they could use a little tranquility too. I mean, look at Daffy and Donald. I think the two of them could use a little time off to chill out."
"I don't blame your dad. I guess it's just something else that he would have to take care of. Or more likely, have your mom take care of it. In most homes I mean," Caroline shrugged. Still even in today's soceity, it always seemed to be the wife who were doing the work. But it depened on every family. Maybe Joanne's parents had servents. And at the Sweet household, Caroline was the stand in Cinderella.

"Ah, donald and Daffy, a girl after my own heart." Joanne said with a giggle. "They were my favorites growing up."
Joanne shrugged. "Oh I'm sure it would be a hassle. Mostly likely I'd be the one to take care of it, or it would get disgusting, father would yell, and the animals would all die. It would be horrible."

"Oh really? That's great! I always loved Daffy. Even though that Bugs was smarter, Daffy was just cooler you know. He wouldn't give up and of course he had a speech impediment. Which made me love him even more. I had issues saying 's' when I was little. So I had a role model in Daffy. Maybe that's why I am the way I am," Caroline smirked at the idea. "Sounds like a good enough reason to me. Either that or I hit my head and lost some braincells."
Caroline wrinkled her nose. "Oh yeah I guess that couldn't be too good."

"You had the 's' huh?" Joanne said with a smile. "I put R's in a lot of things that didn't have R in them." She laughed. "Sort of a scooby doo thing going. I use to say Resert instead of Desert, or Sranwrich and now Sandwich." She laughed again shaking her head. "Little kids can be funny. One of my cousins is two, and a big talker. She's so cute she's always talking about people. Well Joanne is a bit to complicated for her." She smiled at the though. "Ends up calling me my ann, it's really cute."

"Aw," Caroline said with a grin. "That's kinda cute. Going with Scooby-Doo. I liked him too...and it was one of my indicators on my sexuality. I really really liked Daphne. And Velma too. I think I would drool over them..." No wonder my mother has issues with me.
"Really?" She asked her eyes lighting up at the mention of another two year old. "Maybe we should set up a play date for Jonas and your cousin. He really doesn't get much other contact with kids his age. I usually don't have time to bring him to the park on the weekdays. I try on the weekends though."

"Really?" Joanne asked in surprise. "I always liked Wilma on The Flinestones. I liked her hair." She laughed. "I thought I was the only one who did that. Now I don't feel so stupid."
"Yeah, she lives about an hour away, but if I offered to take her for the day, my Aunt would gladly hand her over." She said with a laugh. "Her name is, and I know, parents are cruel, Hoeni. It's pronounced Honey, but spelled H O E N I." She shook her head. "Isn't that terrible?"

"Wilma huh?" Caroline asked closing her eyes slightly to imagine the woman. "She did have a red hair. And that's always a plus. Oh believe me you're not the only one. I knew that I was a lesbian cause when I first watched Sleeping Beauty I wanted to kiss her awake. My mom loved that at the time as you can imagine."
Caroline's eyes went wide. "Really? Wow...that poor poor kid. She's gonna mispell honey all her life. I feel bad for her now...she definitly needs a little friend in my baby brother. He's a loving sort...maybe he can help her." She offered with a wink.

Joanne grinned. "I told her parents that her name was gonna be mispronounced forever. But some people just don't care. They think how they do, and they'll do as they want. I'm just glad my parents didn't go crazy with my name. Though, until I was about 3 I thought my name was Kitten. That's what my father's annoying pet name for me is, and all he called me." She laughed suddenly. "Not as bad as my friend Ted. His name is Theodore, and he didnt even know that until kindergarten, cause no one called him anything but Ted, and when he found out his name was Theodore, he cried. It was so sad for him." When Caroline said her little brother was the loving sort, she smiled.
"Oh, I bet he's adorable." She said with a grin. "Babies are so cute. We should definatly set up a play date for them."

"Kitten really?" Caroline asked leaning back slightly. "I don't really see you as a kitten..." She tilted her head to each side and then squinted her eyes. Then she took a deep breath and leaned over to ruffle Joanne's hair slightly. "Now, you're a kitten." Caroline wondered if Joanne was one of those girls who freaked if their hair was touched. She bit her lip hoping that she didn't mind.
"Yeah that would be great. It really would be," Caroline smiled. "He needs to get out more...and so do I frankly."

Joanne laughed when Caroline leaned over and ruffled her hair. "Ah I see, NOW I'm a kitten. I understand now." she laughed. "I dunno, it's just his weird little pet name. You know, parents can be really embarassing sometimes. At home they seem ok, and then the second we go anywhere, it's just like, 'what are you doing!?' You know?" She said with a shake of her head.

Caroline knew how her mother could be embaressing. But not in the cutsie "I have an annoying pet name for my daughter" or "I tell compleate strangers about my daughter when she was a baby." She had other things to be embaressed by. Despite being such a talkative person, she kept them to herself. No need to drag Joanne into her life. It was messed up as it was...she should be spared.
"Yeah...yeah I know," She said quietly. Just then the bell rang. "Oh...Cinderella time. So um...I guess if I don't see you later I'll see you at homecoming. Do you just wanna meet there?"

"If you like. We can do that or we can eat something first." Joanne smiled. She picked up the pizza box, which was now surprisingly empty. She scrawled down her phone number and gave it to Caroline. "Give me a call and we'll talk ok?" She smiled warmly before checking her watch. "I have to go or I'm gonna be late. But call me tonight if you can..." She ditched the box and can and hurried into the hallway to make it to her class.
((Joanne out to somewhere else I'm not sure of yet))

"Oh crap yeah I forgot about the whole dinner first thing. Sorry horrible memory," Caroline said hitting her head with her hand. "Sorry bout that. Yeah...yeah I'll call you." She looked down at the paper like it was the holy grail. There was no way that she was going to loose this. She tucked it in her back pocket and thanked her lucky stars that she forgot to pack lunch for herself that morning. [out- I don't know yet ]
